Greetings
Iâm stopping by to share my latest family outingâone of the best of 2026âvisiting the Waraira Repano Cable Car System.
What is the Waraira Repano Cable Car System, and where is it located?
I invite you to read about my latest experience.
The cable car system is a mode of transportation that uses cabins to take passengers from Venezuelaâs capital city (Caracas) up to the highest point of the mountain most significant to all residents of Caracas, formerly known as âEl Avila.â

This adventure was a unique and special family outing for my wife, my daughter, and me. Where did the journey begin? At the stop for the vans heading to the cable car; you can catch these on the main street of Bellas Artes in the city center, which will drop you off half a block from the main cable car station.

After arriving, the first thing youâll see is a beautiful backdrop with the name of our beautiful country, VENEZUELA. We didnât miss the chance to take some lovely photos there.

After taking these beautiful and fun photos, we went to the ticket office where you can buy tickets for the gondolas that will take us to the top of the mountain, allowing us to enjoy the wonderful experience of riding the cable car. By the way, I should mention that this was our first time riding the cable car as a family; the last time we rode it was back when my partner and I were just a couple, we hadnât started a family yet; our beautiful Natalia was in the plans, but she hadnât arrived yet at that time. So yes, this was our little girlâs first time on a cable car, and despite her fear, we were always there to support her. She managed to get into the cabin and watch as we passed the checkpoints and kept going higher and higher, leaving the city behind and seeing it from above.

In the end, we made it to the top. We really enjoyed the climbâit was like a test of courage and love on our little girlâs part, as well as a new experience for all of us where we supported one another and enjoyed the journey, the experience of seeing the city from above, and getting to know a new mode of transportation for my daughter, to see the place where she lives from a different perspective, to witness the grandeur of Caracas, and to see just how imposing the mountainsâAvila and Wuaraira Repanoâcan be.
Should I recommend it? Absolutely! I would do so a thousand times over. To all travelers and visitors to Venezuela and Caracas, donât miss the cable carâit will be a phenomenal and unforgettable experience.

Saludos
