The last two images look particularly stunning! The ten years later recreation picture is fun, your wife looks the same ten years later!
I have never been to Canyonlands, I visited the Grand Canyon on the way to state of Washington from Kansas in 1999 and that is the closest I have gotten to these kind of views and we didn't go off-roading :)

Yes, in the last two pictures Sun was low in the horizon, and red rock country lights up during that time.
I will tell that to my wife, she will enjoy that :)
