Seascapes and stunning architecture (Eng/Esp)

I continue to showcase the wonderful landscapes from my walk along the Caigüire beach boardwalk. Here, we find not only scenes related to the sea—such as the boats on the shore, given the fishing activity in this area—which are often a source of inspiration for artistic works.

But on the other side of the street, there are also some imposing buildings, so you can see a striking contrast between natural beauty and the beauty created through architecture. Perhaps the most striking building is one that still retains a design associated with Asian culture; this place used to be a very popular nightclub, the well-remembered Zucca Bar.

Several years ago, there was a vibrant nightlife scene here on weekends; young people and adults gathered here to enjoy a night out at the club, which gave Cumana a cosmopolitan vibe and, of course, boosted the local economy. Since it was located right on Perimetral Avenue, the spectacle of music, sound, and colorful lights could be seen from a distance.

The architecture of this building is quite unique because it is modern and very attractive; another plus is its beachfront location, which offers a spectacular view. Among the distinct Asian-inspired elements, you can see a pagoda-shaped ornament at the very top of the roof. It still retains its original color scheme—light pastel tones, a green roof, and blue glass.

It’s always a pleasure to walk by here, as the afternoons are bustling with activity: fishermen, athletes, people heading to Coctelitos, and others strolling for pleasure all bring this place to life. It’s impossible not to think back to about twenty years ago, when I used to walk this stretch to get to the bars and work out there until nightfall, while others enjoyed the nightlife at Zucca Bar—an atmosphere that gradually faded away until it became nothing but a memory.

Sigo mostrando los maravillosos paisajes de mi recorrido por el malecón de la playa de Caigüire, acá no solo encontramos escenarios relacionados con el mar, como los botes en la orilla, dada la actividad pesquera en este lugar, que por lo regular suelen ser motivo de inspiración para elaborar obras artísticas.

Pero también del otro lado de la acera se presentan algunas construcciones imponentes, así que se aprecia un marcado contraste entre la belleza natural y la diseñada a través de la arquitectura. Quizás la edificación más llamativa sea una que aún conserva un diseño asociado a la cultura asiática, este lugar funcionaba antiguamente como una discoteca muy popular, la recordada Zucca Bar.

Hace varios años atrás había mucha vida nocturna durante el fin de semana en esta zona, jóvenes y adultos se reunían acá para disfrutar de una noche de discoteca, lo que concedía a Cumaná una faceta cosmopolita y por supuesto favorecía a la economía local. Al estar ubicada en plena avenida Perimetral, el show de música, sonido y luces coloridas se podía observar desde la distancia.

La arquitectura de este edificio es bastante peculiar porque es moderna y muy atractiva, otro punto a su favor es su ubicación frente de la playa, así que la vista es privilegiada. Entre los marcados elementos de influencia asiática se pueden apreciar en lo más alto del techo ornamento en forma de pagoda. Todavia conserva el color original, tono pastel claro, techo verde y cristales de color azul.

Siempre es grato transitar por acá, pues en las tardes hay mucha actividad, pescadores, deportistas, personas que acuden a los Coctelitos y otras que caminan por placer hacen vida en este lugar. Es inevitable pensar cuando, hace unos veinte años atrás, solía recorrer este tramo para llegar a la zona de las barras y allí hacer ejercicio hasta anochecer, mientras varias personas disfrutaban en Zucca Bar de ese ambiente nocturno que paulatinamente fue desapareciendo hasta transformarse en recuerdos.
