This time, a new beach welcomes us. Our chosen destination was the Quetepe Beach Resort, a very famous tourist spot located in the Bolivar municipality of Sucre state. The word “Quetepe” comes from the Cumanagoto language and means Road to Guiria, referring to the town located south of Paria in the Valdez municipality.

On the day we visited this beach, the sky was cloudy, but that didn’t stop little Alma and her grandparents from enjoying the sand and the sea. As you can see, Quetepe offers a variety of settings; we set up in a covered area to protect ourselves in case of rain. The shoreline in front of us was rocky and covered with seaweed, which wasn’t very pleasant given how it felt to walk over such an uneven surface for a considerable distance.

For years, this beach resort has been very popular thanks to its facilities, which offer a variety of services for beachgoers. In our case, we had the opportunity to settle in comfortably at a beachside café where, in addition to a table and several chairs, we were offered Wi-Fi internet access and background music.

However, since this was a family outing, we decided to stay away from the internet for quite a while to devote our time to this new experience. Alma was happy playing in the sand with her grandparents, building sandcastles and sea creatures. Although the water was a little cold, that didn’t stop her—she dove in several times, and when she came out, she ran straight over to be wrapped in a towel because the sun wasn’t warm enough.

This outing was a wonderful opportunity to spend time together, and no gathering like this would be complete without good food, so we made plans to enjoy a delicious barbecue as a family. Eating by the ocean is such a pleasant experience; I love seeing my loved ones together, sharing these moments that will be treasured in our memories.
