"Santa Ines" Alley is a landmark in the city; it is part of the Historic District and honors the patron saint of Cumana. Following a restoration process, it now looks very colorful and cheerful. Walking through here is like stepping back in time to that city rooted in the colonial era and looking toward modernity with uncertainty; that is why it is part of our collective memory—our ancestors walked these streets.

Along this alley, you can see two portraits of Saint Agnes, which differ from one another in the designs and techniques used in the line work and painting—perhaps also because one depicts her as a young woman, while the other shows her with the features of an adult woman.

This space currently features striking murals created by local and international artists, who took great care to leave their mark on the walls of these mansions. Particularly noteworthy are the figures of three Black children, due to the level of detail they possess, which gives their faces a sense of texture.

You can also see various ornamental plants and flowers, such as trinitarias—especially the fuchsia-colored ones—which beautify the area. Above, serving as a canopy, is a mesh with a few butterflies hanging from it, and there is also a sign identifying this alley.

You can enter from the end facing the Basilica of Santa Ines, and from there there are two exits: one leading to Alley The Alacran, toward Comercio Street, and the other to Aristigueta Avenue. This makes it easy to walk through this part of the city, since you can reach downtown in just a few steps. It is precisely from this angle that you can see one of the images most frequently depicted by artists: the Basilica of Santa Ines as viewed from the end of the alley.

El callejón "Santa Inés" constituye un referente en la ciudad, forma parte del Casco Histórico y honra a la Patrona de Cumaná. Tras un proceso de restauración, luce muy colorido y alegre. Pasar por acá es regresar en el tiempo, a esa ciudad que se asentaba en lo colonial y miraba con incertidumbre la modernidad, por ello es parte de la memoria colectiva, nuestros ancestros transitaron por aquí.

A lo largo de este callejón se pueden apreciar dos retratos de Santa Inés, que se diferencian la una de la otra por los diseños y técnicas utilizadas en el trazo y la pintura, quizás también porque una luce juvenil, en cambio la otra imagen tiene rasgos de una mujer adulta.

Este espacio actualmente presenta murales muy llamativos realizados por artistas locales e internacionales, quienes se esmeraron en dejar su huella en las paredes de estas casonas, destacan las figuras de tres niños de raza negra por la cantidad de detalles que poseen, concediendo la sensación de textura en sus rostros.

También se pueden observar diferentes plantas ornamentales y flores como las Trinitarias, sobre todo las de color fucsia, las cuales embellecen en lugar. Arriba, como forma de techo, está una malla con algunas mariposas colgando, también se puede leer un letrero que identifica a este callejón.

Se puede ingresar por el extremo ubicado frente a la Basílica de Santa Inés y luego se presentan dos salidas, una al Callejón El Alacrán, rumbo a la calle Comercio, y otra a la Avenida Aristigueta, lo que facilita el caminar por esta parte de la ciudad ya que en pocos pasos llegamos al centro. Justamente desde este ángulo es que se aprecia una de las imágenes que más han reproducido artistas, el de la Basílica de Santa Inés vista desde el fondo el callejón.
