Family outing: beach, sun, and sand (Eng/Esp)

Today’s adventure takes us into the waters of Caigüire Beach, which this morning looked like a vast blue plate; you could see the sky’s reflection, so two shades—sky blue and ocean blue—were visible on the horizon, converging and blending to create a picturesque scene.

This time, the family enjoyed a swim at the beach while I sat on the shore observing the immensity of the sea—and keeping an eye on them. Each time, you feel a different yet relaxing vibe, that energy that embraces the soul and makes us feel part of nature, setting aside so many worries about the present.

The children smiled and played, splashing in the water. Then Grandpa showed up with a big inflatable life ring—the hit of the moment—and everyone wanted to take a ride and swim for a while. Although Alma’s cousins are a few years older than she is, they played together as equals. You could hear the commotion, as if they were mimicking the cries of the seagulls and gannets.

Grandma indulged the little one with several swimsuit changes, since the girl wanted to wear the ones her aunt had given her. She likes to pose, so this was the perfect time to take some photos with different outfits.

We spent some time doing something different, away from our daily routine. Moments like these are truly appreciated, especially when we’re lucky enough to get together as a family and remember that life is made up of special moments that become even more enjoyable when seen through the eyes of a child. I couldn’t help but think back to my first trips to the beach, back when the movie Jaws traumatized an entire generation.

La aventura de hoy nos sumerge en las aguas de la Playa Caigüire, que esta mañana parecía un gran plato azul, se podría apreciar el reflejo del cielo, así que dos tonos, el celeste y el marino, se dejaban ver en el horizonte, convergiendo, fundiéndose para crear una pintura de imagen.

En esta ocasión la familia disfrutó de un baño de playa mientras yo me senté en la orilla a observar la inmensidad del mar, también los vigilaba. En cada ocasión se siente una vibra distinta pero relajante, esa energía que abraza el alma y nos hace sentir parte de lo natural, dejando a un lado tantas preocupaciones por el presente.

Los niños sonreían y jugaban salpicando el agua. Luego apareció el abuelo con un gran salvavidas inflable, la sensación del momento, todos querían pasear y nadar un rato. Aunque los primos de Alma son mayores que ella, por algunos años, compartieron de igual manera. Se podía escuchar la algarabía, tal como si replicaban el canto de las gaviotas y alcatraces.

La abuela complació a la pequeña abeja con varios cambios de traje de baño, pues la niña quiso llevar los que le había regalado su tía. A ella le gusta posar, así que este momento fue propicio para tomar unas fotografías con distintos tipos de vestuarios.

Pasamos un rato diferente, alejados de la cotidianidad. Estos momentos se agradecen y, sobre todo, cuando se tiene la dicha de reunirse en familia y recordar que la vida está hecha de instantes especiales que se vuelven más gratos si se observan con miradas infantiles. No pude evitar acordarme de mis primeros baños de playa, de cuando la película Tiburón dejó traumatizada a una generacion.
