A trip to a new beach (Eng/Esp)

Once again, we set off on an adventure, this time to Güirintal Beach, a place with crystal clear waters and enchanting scenery. Located about twenty minutes from the city of Cumana, on the shores of the Gulf of Cariaco, it is one of the lesser-known beaches, but nevertheless an ideal paradise for enjoying life and beautiful moments.

I visited this beautiful place with my wife, my little daughter, and my in-laws. We arrived very early, at eight in the morning, and found a privileged spot to enjoy the beach. We had the place all to ourselves. The sea at this time of day is usually calm, looking like a blue plate illuminated by the radiant sun.

Little Alma was happy playing on the shore. She loves to imagine that she is making ice cream and cakes, made with sand in this case. Children's imagination and creativity bring joy to life. She had a lot of fun with her grandmother, who accompanies her and is her partner in all her games, while my wife took pictures of the sunset on the horizon.

Alma also played for a while with the inflatable life preserver her grandfather brought her, having fun in the waves. This beach is perfect for children because it is quite shallow. In fact, it has a section that looks like a hill right in the middle, before the deep part begins. This division can be seen when you notice the water in two shades, one part with a green tint, which is shallower, and another that is completely blue, which requires swimming skills.

My wife took advantage of this opportunity to explore the local flora and fauna, taking pictures of everything around her. The seascape is very beautiful. From the shore, you can see the other coast, Araya and Manicuare, and the mountains look immense, as if they were within reach, but your perspective changes when you think about swimming that distance.

When the sun reached its zenith at around midday, circumstances changed. Although there was a pleasant breeze, the heat was beginning to take its toll. By then, Alma was comfortably sheltered under a canopy of palm trees. On the beach, people could be seen gathering clams and mussels, protected by clothing covering them from head to toe, a sign that the sun was at its most intense and irritating.

We took one last dip before starting the return journey at around two in the afternoon. Little Alma took the opportunity to sleep for a while, lulled by the sound of the waves and the breeze. The return trip was quick, and in a few minutes a bus took us back to Cumana.

De nuevo nos lanzamos a la aventura, esta vez nos fuimos a la playa Güirintal, un lugar de aguas cristalinas y un paisaje encantador. Ubicada a unos veinte minutos de la ciudad de Cumaná, a las orillas del golfo de Cariaco, es una playa de las menos conocidas, pero sin embargo es un paraíso ideal para apreciar la vida y los bellos momentos.

Visité este hermoso sitio junto a mi esposa, mi pequeña hija y mis suegros. Llegamos bien temprano, a las ocho de la mañana nos ubicamos en un sitio privilegiado para disfrutar de la playa, teníamos el lugar para nosotros solos. El mar a esta hora suele estar tranquilo, parecía un plato azul iluminado por un radiante sol.

La pequeña Alma estaba feliz jugando en la orilla, le encanta imaginar que prepara helados y tortas, hechos con arena en este caso, la imaginación y creatividad de los niños alegran la existencia. Ella se divirtió mucho junto a su abuela, quién la acompaña y es su cómplice en todos sus juegos, en tanto mi esposa capturaba fotografías aprovechando la puesta del sol en el horizonte.

Alma también se entretuvo un rato con el salvavidas inflable que le llevó su abuelo, allí se divirtió en medio de algunas olas. Esta playa es perfecta para los niños porque es bastante baja, de hecho tiene una sección que parece una colina y está justo en el medio, antes de empezar la parte profunda, tal división se aprecia al advertir el agua en dos tonalidades, una parte con tinte verde, la menos profunda, y otra totalmente azul, la que requiere destrezas de nadador.

Mi esposa aprovechó esta oportunidad para explorar la fauna y la flora del lugar, tomando fotografías de todo lo que encontraba a su alrededor. El paisaje marino es muy hermoso, desde la orilla se puede divisar la otra costa, Araya y Manicuare, las montañas se ven inmensas, como si estuvieran al alcance, pero la perspectiva cambia cuando se piensa en recorrer tal distancia nadando.

Cuando el sol se ubicó en posición central, a eso del mediodía, las circunstancias cambiaron, si bien en el ambiente la brisa era agradable, la incandescencia comenzaba a pasar factura, para entonces Alma estaba resguardada de lo más cómoda bajo un techo de palmeras. En la playa se observaban personas extrayendo almejas y mejillones, protegidos por sus ropas hasta la cabeza, indicio de que el sol es irritante en su punto más intenso.

Nos dimos un último chapuzón antes de iniciar el recorrido de retorno, a eso de las dos de la tarde. La pequeña Alma aprovecho la ocasión de dormir un rato bajo el arrullo del sonido que le regalaba el oleaje marino y la brisa. El regreso fue rápido, en pocos minutos un autobús nos trasladó de regreso a Cumaná.
