WHITE SAND TOURISM // Discovering a Hidden Paradise of White Sand and Blue Sea

Today, three of my friends and I set off once again on a trip to Banda Aceh for a short vacation. As usual, we chose to travel via the alternative route known as Laweung Road. We deliberately took this road because it is shorter and helps us avoid heavy traffic. Even better, the journey along this route offers a peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking natural scenery, with magnificent mountains on one side and the sea stretching alongside the road. However, this alternative route is best traveled during the daytime. At night, it is considered quite challenging due to its remote location, far away from residential areas.

We started this trip quite early in the morning, if I'm not mistaken it was 4:00 am, the road conditions at that time were still relatively quiet so we could increase the speed of the car safely. Behind the car window I also tried to capture some of the views that looked quite beautiful because they were decorated by the sunrise.

This was one of the views I managed to capture after we arrived in the Laweung area. It featured vast stretches of lush rice fields with towering mountains rising majestically in the background. Moments like these always bring me a sense of joy, as every journey I take offers something meaningful—whether it's a beautiful new place to admire, a valuable life lesson to learn, or a memorable experience to cherish.

At exactly 8:00 a.m., we finally arrived at one of Aceh's most famous beach destinations, Lhok Mee White Sand Beach. This beautiful beach is located in Lamreh Village, Mesjid Raya District, Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh Province. If I'm not mistaken, it is approximately 37 kilometers from the center of Banda Aceh

The tourist area is also quite expansive, with several different attractions to explore, each offering its own unique charm and character. Another reason why this destination is so popular is its affordable entrance fee. On weekdays, the admission fee is only IDR 10.000 per car, making it a very budget-friendly place to visit.

In my opinion, this is one of the best tourist destinations to visit with family. There are plenty of enjoyable activities to do here, such as relaxing by the beach, having a barbecue with fresh fish or chicken, walking and playing on the soft white sand, or swimming in the calm shallow waters. At the same time, it is also an incredibly romantic place to visit with your partner. The peaceful atmosphere, refreshing sea breeze, and breathtaking coastal scenery create the perfect setting to spend quality time together.

The waves along this beach are generally calm, making the shoreline look very inviting. However, swimming here still requires extra caution, as the area is home to various marine creatures, including sea urchins, which can cause painful injuries if stepped on.Look at this view, isn't it quite captivating.?

At that time, the beach was relatively quiet, with only a few visitors around. However, that was perfectly normal since it was a weekday. As soon as I arrived, the first thing I did was take a short break. After that, I enjoyed some of the local specialties available at the beach before setting off to explore this beautiful tourist destination.
