Hello there!
Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries and regions, including Japan, Maldives, Indonesia, US, Europe and the latest one being New Zealand, it's time to fly over to Australia!
Australia is a country that I have been to twice in my life. The first time was to Sydney in 2009, and the second time was to Melbourne in 2011. And I realised that's 14 years since I was last there! Anyway, time to relive those moments as I share the sights and sounds of my experience!
Here are the posts so far:
The fun part about road trips is actually surprise discoveries! Most of us drive from destination from destination, but on one of our final days, while we were driving back to the city, we chanced upon this lookout point in the vicinity. Feeling adventurous, we made a detour, exited the highway and followed the signboard and drove all the way uphill.
It seemed like this could be a popular viewing point since there had a space for cars to park.
After parking our car, we made our way to explore the area. They had a description board showing us that we were at Mount Leura and there's also a crater to view as well.
On the other side of the mountain, there's the streets and the accompanying history.
As we were on elevated ground, it was an unblocked bird eye's view across the surroundings. After a long car ride, it was actually quite refreshing to get out of the car, soak in some nice views, and breathe in some fresh air. And of course, take some awesome photos of the scenery!
On the other side, the terrain was very flat and it was just interesting to see and experience.
Oh, just as we were exploring the 360 degree view, we finally saw what looked like crater! Wow! That's so interesting. I have seen massive craters in other countries but they were often located in mountainous areas which were not so accessible. This one was not far off the highway.
I think we spent about half an hour chilling out and taking a break at the mountain top before carrying on with our journey back to the city of Melbourne. I guess that's the fun about road trips, the flexibility to stop as and when we see something interesting and random, and gain some new experience as well as knowledge!
And that's all I have today! Have you taken road trips in Australia? Let me know in the comments below!
