The final leg of this adventure takes us to the Raul Leoni Bridge, which crosses the Manzanares River before it reaches its mouth at Puerto Sucre; that’s why I could see a boat near where I was standing. I headed to the right and arrived at Humboldt Avenue; I walked up onto the bridge very carefully, as there was quite a bit of traffic coming from the municipal market. From here, you can see a vacant lot that serves as a sports field, and on the other side, you can make out the buildings of the Santa Catalina community, while a little further away, the City Traki Shopping Center comes into view.

One of the most striking aspects of this route was the various murals I came across. The first is a graffiti piece with large letters that reads “Do not litter.” In the eye-catching graphic style characteristic of urban art, it serves as a clear reminder of a basic rule of coexistence: to keep public spaces clean and in good condition.

Next come some musical notes that adorn the wall, reminding us of the city’s folkloric history. Then, two children on skateboards—depicted in a cartoon-style illustration—highlight the philosophy of those who practice skateboarding, or as they’re popularly known, “skateboarders.” After that, a wall with black-and-white designs comes into view—a striking piece of graffiti created by the “Oriente Firme Cultural Movement” Foundation.

If we continue on, there’s a wall featuring many elements: tomatoes, cacti, plants, mustaches, pineapples, and an eagle, among others. It’s a way of expressing art through a simple and picturesque approach. Cumana is a cradle of talent, and a tour of this part of the city confirms just that.

Walking through other parts of the city is one of my hobbies, as it’s a way to get to know the streets, plazas, parks, and other points of interest better; this helps promote local tourism and allows me to learn new directions. I really enjoyed this urban stroll; I never imagined that this path, which begins at Ayacucho Plaza, would lead me to discover that there is, quite literally, life under a bridge.

La última parte de esta aventura nos lleva al puente Raúl Leoni, que pasa sobre el río Manzanares antes de llegar a su desembocadura en Puerto Sucre, por tal razón pude observar un bote cerca de mi ubicación. Avancé hacia la derecha, allí llegué a la Avenida Humboldt, subí al puente con mucho cuidado, pues había bastante tráfico proveniente del mercado municipal. Desde acá se observa un terreno baldío que funciona como cancha y del otro lado se perciben los edificios de la comunidad Santa Catalina, en tanto un poco más lejos se aprecia el Centro Comercial Ciudad Traki.

Uno de los aspectos más llamativos de este recorrido fueron los diversos murales que encontré, el primero es un grafiti con letras grandes que dice "No botar basura". En el vistoso estilo gráfico que caracteriza el arte urbano se envía un claro recordatorio de una regla básica de convivencia para mantener los lugares públicos limpios y en buen estado.

Posteriormente siguen unas letras musicales que engalanan la pared, nos recuerdan la historia folclórica de la ciudad. Luego dos niños en patineta, estilo dibujo, resaltan la filosofía de quienes practican el skateboarding o como se le conoce popularmente patineteros. Después en escena aparece una pared con diseños en blanco y negro, un grafiti bastante vistoso que es obra de la Fundación "Movimiento cultural oriente firme".

Sí continuamos avanzando hay una pared con muchos elementos; tomates, cactus, plantas, patillas, piñas, águila, entre otros. Una forma de expresar el arte desde un enfoque sencillo y pintoresco. Cumaná es una cuna de talentos y el recorrido por esta parte de la ciudad así lo confirma.

Caminar por otros sectores de la ciudad es uno de mis hobbies, pues es una forma de conocer más las calles, plazas, parques y otros sitios de interés, así se consolida el turismo local y aprendo nuevas direcciones. Me gustó mucho esta travesía urbana, nunca imaginé que este pasaje que inicia en la plaza Ayacucho me llevaría a constatar que, literalmente, hay vida debajo de un puente.
