• In this post, I will take you to another castle, but it will be in a place we have been to before. However, we had not visited this beautiful place specifically, the beautiful Moorish castle located in Sintra, Portugal. So, if you are passionate about visiting historical places accompanied by a unique natural environment that looks like something out of a fairy tale, you will love this trip.

• En este post los llevaré a otro castillo, pero será en un lugar en el que anteriormente ya hemos estado; sin embargo, no habíamos visitado este hermoso lugar en específico, el hermoso castillo de los moros localizado en Sintra, en Portugal. Así que si eres un apasionado de visitar lugares históricos acompañado con un entorno natural único que parece salido de un cuento de hadas, este paseo te encantará.

• It's nothing new that I'm talking about Sintra again, but what can I say? This place has so much to offer; there are still many things left to explore, and I'm sure I've left a lot behind. To get to the castle, take the train from Oriente to Sintra, then walk to the entrance of the mountain, because, as we can see, this castle is located on a mountain, so if you decide to walk up, you have to go through the mountain, or you can pay for a tuk-tuk or bus. My first big tip is that you can't go by road, as buses and tuk-tuks are constantly passing by, and the streets are extremely narrow, with a single bus taking up the entire road. Unfortunately, due to high tourism and the government's lack of responsibility in controlling tourism in Sintra, it's a nightmare to drive, walk, or enter tourist sites. Currently, the residents of Sintra are protesting because this beautiful place is becoming a Disneyland, BUT unlike that place, this area is protected because of its unique ecosystem and MANY ancient ruins that, due to poor tourism control, are being exposed to risk. So if you visit Sintra, please be careful, respect the ecosystem and the rules of the place, drive carefully, and respect the residents by not littering or causing noise pollution.

• No es nada nuevo que hable otra vez de Sintra, pero ¿qué puedo decir? Este lugar tiene demasiadas cosas por ofrecer; todavía quedan muchísimas cosas por explorar y, sin duda, muchas cosas me he dejado atrás. Para ir al castillo, utilice el tren de Oriente a Sintra; después camine hasta la entrada de la montaña, porque, como podemos observar, este castillo se encuentra en una montaña, así que si decides subir caminando, tienes que ir a través de la montaña o puedes pagar un tuk-tuk o bus. Mi primer gran consejo es que no puedes ir por la carretera, ya que constantemente están pasando buses y tuk-tuks, además de que las calles son extremadamente pequeñas, que un solo bus ocupa todo el camino. Lastimosamente, debido al alto turismo y falta de responsabilidad del gobierno para controlar el turismo en Sintra, es una pesadilla conducir, andar o entrar en los sitios turísticos. Actualmente, los pobladores de Sintra se encuentran haciendo protestas porque este hermoso lugar se está volviendo un Disneyland, PERO a diferencia de que este lugar es una zona protegida por su ecosistema único y MUCHAS ruinas antiguas que, por mal control del turismo, están siendo expuestas en riesgo, así que si visitas Sintra, por favor, sé prudente, respeta el ecosistema, las reglas del lugar, conduce con prudencia y respeta a los moradores no ensuciando el lugar o haciendo contaminación auditiva.

• As its name suggests, this is a castle built by the Muslims during the Iberian invasion in the 10th to 8th centuries BC. According to archaeological reports, at that time the name Sintra did not exist, but it was called as-Shantara. This castle was built on top of the Sintra mountain range, with easy access to the Atlantic Ocean, Cascais, Mafra, and Lisbon. The Muslims settled and ruled these lands until King Afonso VI of León and Castile received Sintra and the Muslims withdrew due to the king's forces, leaving that area of the Iberian Peninsula in 1094. The castle was built on a granite base, using the same rocks that are found in the Sintra mountains.

• Como su nombre lo indica, se trata de un castillo construido por los musulmanes en la invasión ibérica en los siglos X a VIII a.C. según los informes arqueológicos, en ese tiempo no existía el nombre Sintra, sino que era llamado as-Shantara. Este castillo lo construyeron en la cima de la sierra de Sintra, teniendo un acceso fácil donde construyeron vías al océano Atlántico, Cascais, Mafra y Lisboa. Los musulmanes se asentaron y gobernaron estas tierras hasta que el rey Afonso VI de Leão e Castela recibió Sintra y los musulmanes se retiraron debido a las fuerzas del rey, dejando esa zona en la península ibérica en el año 1094. La construcción de este castillo es de una base de granito, o sea las mismas rocas que nacen en la sierra de Sintra.
