Located in the western part of the country, you'll find this beautiful region. It's not a big city; one of its advantages is that it's a small town, with only about 10,300 residents; in just a few days, you can visit most of the local attractions. It's a 1.5-hour drive from the capital; you can buy a bus ticket to Nazaré or rent a car. If you want to go by bus, the fares aren’t expensive; I spent €17 for a round trip.
On the first day, we went down to the city, took a tour of the coast, and discovered that near the marina there’s a small tourist spot called “A Casa dos Gatos,” which is a cat community with small, beautifully decorated houses where the cats live, and we managed to spot several cats in the area. One very cute one came over to say hello, so cat lovers will adore this visit.

Walking along the coast, we come across two lighthouses; the red one is called the Nazaré North Pier Lighthouse, and the green one, the Nazaré South Pier Lighthouse. You can get close, but not too close for safety reasons; full access is restricted because, as we can see in the photos, the Nazaré tide is very dangerous, in addition to the strong winds that can range from 10 to 25 km/h depending on the weather.
I also managed to photograph the old buildings in the area and enjoy a delicious pizza near the coast, followed by ice cream with a view of the sunset. Upon returning to the hotel, I took the opportunity to try the hotel restaurant, and it was delicious; without a doubt, my vacation got off to an incredible start. If you decide to visit this city in the summer, this place offers plenty of spots for swimming and sunbathing.

This city is divided into two parts: the lower town and the upper town, which is perched on a cliff. The next day, I decided to visit the cliffside area where the famous Nazaré Lighthouse is located, which I mentioned in another post. You can also visit a deer park and the famous Sanctuary of Our Lady of Nazaré, which was built in the 14th century by King Ferdinand I. Previously, there was a small chapel dedicated to the Virgin of Nazaré, but since it was very small, the King of Portugal decided to build this sanctuary.
Another tourist attraction in the area is the funicular that takes you through the city; however, due to the recent storm in the country, the city’s attractions were damaged, so I wasn’t able to enjoy them. Nevertheless, I took an Uber to other spots, such as the cliff viewpoint, where you can enjoy incredible views of the city and the sea.

¡Excelentes fotos!
