For a long time, I've been trying to introduce you to the beautiful natural corners of Antalya, the city where I live, and to share the excitement I experience. With each new trip, I put my excitement, what I see, and the feelings nature evokes in me into words. But I must confess that lake shores hold a very special place in my heart. These are the places where I truly find peace. Today, I'll talk about a trip we took to a quiet, peaceful lake shore that soothes the inner peace of one's soul. This beautiful lake, called Ekşili Göleti (Sour Lake), is where you can hear the sounds of fish swimming and crickets during the quietest moments of the day, under the white clouds that cover the sky.

Yaşadığım şehir Antalya'nın birbirinden güzel doğal köşelerini uzun zamandır sizlere buradan tanıtmaya ve yaşadığım heyecanı anlatmaya çalışıyorum. Her yeni rotamızda heyecanımı, gördüklerimi ve doğanın bana hissettirdiklerini kaleme döküyorum. Ama itiraf etmeliyim ki; göl kıyılarının bende bambaşka bir yeri var. Buralar huzuru tam anlamıyla yakaladığım yerler oluyor. Bugün de sessiz, sakin ve insanın iç huzurunu okşayan bir göl kıyısına yaptığımız gezimizden bahsedeceğim. Gündüz gökyüzünü kaplayan beyaz bulutların altında günün en sessiz anında gölde yüzen balıkların ve cırcır böceklerinin sesini işitebileceğiniz bu güzel gölün adı ekşili göleti olarak geçiyor.

Ekşili Pond is located in the Döşemaltı district of Antalya. Approximately 40 minutes from the city center, the pond is a beautiful getaway for camping and picnics. You can easily reach the pond by going from the Döşemaltı district to the Ekşili neighborhood. After passing through several neighborhoods and villages on the paved road, you reach the pond. Most of the road is paved and quite comfortable. However, traffic can be a bit problematic on weekends due to the crowds. We came during the quietest times, on weekday mornings, and enjoyed both the nature and the greenery around the lake.

Ekşili Göleti, Antalya'nın Döşemaltı ilçesinde yer alıyor. Şehir merkezine yaklaşık 40 dakika uzaklıkta olan gölet, kamp ve piknik alanı için güzel bir kaçış noktasıdır. Göle Döşemealtı ilçesinin bulunduğu noktadan Ekşili mahallesine geçerek rahatlıkla ulaşabilirisiniz. Asfalt yol üstünden birkaç mahalle ve köyü geçtikten sonra, göle ulaşım sağlanıyor. Yolun büyük bir bölümü asfalt ve oldukça rahat. Ama hafta sonu yoğunluk olduğunu için, trafik biraz sıkıntı yaratabilir. Biz en sakin zamanları olan hafta içi sabah saatlerinde buraya gelerek, hem doğanın hem de göl etrafındaki yeşilliğin tadını çıkardık.

The lake is surrounded by dense pine trees and lush green grass. It's not a place with large facilities or crowded businesses. Perhaps that's its best feature. All around us are pine trees and a pleasing green and grassy environment. The area around the lake is completely dominated by nature. The verdant pine forests stretching along the opposite shore reflect so beautifully in the water that it creates a scene like a painting by an artist. The weeds, bushes, and newly sprouted colorful flowers lining the lake shore add a unique beauty to the place.

Gölün etrafı yoğun çam ağaçları ve yeşil otlarla kaplıdır. Burası öyle büyük tesislerinin, kalabalık işletmelerin olduğu bir yer değil. Belki de buranın en güzel tarafı bu. Etrafımızda sadece çam ağaçları ve göze hoş gelen yeşil ve çimenlik bir ortam var. Gölün etrafı tamamen doğanın hakimiyeti altında. Karşı kıyıda uzanan yemyeşil çam ormanları, suya o kadar güzel yansıma yapıyor ki; bir ressamın fırçasından çizilen tablo gibi bir manzara ortaya çıkıyor. When we came here, we first took a long walk around the lake. We looked at what the lake looks like from every corner. Actually, while we were walking, we thought about where we could put our table and chair. As we walked, weeds and flowers blocked the view on some banks. During the walk, we heard the beautiful sound of birds landing on the branches of the trees and flying around. When the frogs croaking on the shores combined with the melodies of the crickets, a beautiful symphony emerged.

Buraya geldiğimizde ilk olarak gölün etrafında uzun bir yürüyüş yaptık. Gölün her köşesinden nasıl göründüğüne baktık. Aslında yürürken de masa ve sandalyemizi nereye koyabiliriz diye düşündük. Yürürken yabani otlar ve çiçekler bazı kıyılarda manzarayı kapatıyordu. Yürüyüş sırasında ağaçların dallarına konan ve etraflıca uçan kuşların güzel sesini duyduk. Kıyılarda vırıklayan kurbağalar, cırcır böceklerinin ezgileriyle birleşince ortaya güzel bir senfoni çıkıyordu.

Finally, we found an open space that showcased the lake's full beauty. We set up our table and chairs. Right in front of us was a magnificent view of the lake. The greenery reflected on the water's surface, the waves created by the gentle breeze, created a constantly changing beauty before us.

Sonunda gölün tüm güzelliğini öne çıkaran açık bir alan bulmuştuk. Masa ve sandalyelerimizi kurduk. Tam karşımızda gölün muhteşem manzarası vardı. Gölün üstüne yansıyan yeşillik, hafif esen rüzgarın oluşturduğu dalgalarla birlikte sürekli değişen bir güzellik karşımızda duruyordu.

Part of the lake has been fenced off by the State Water Works. Years ago, this lake was used for irrigation purposes. The area around the lake is very suitable for camping. There are plenty of spacious and shaded areas. You can have picnics and barbecues with your loved ones. Swimming in the lake is prohibited here, but fishing is allowed. It is said that there are plenty of carp in the lake for fishing enthusiasts.

Gölün bir kısmı Devlet Su İşleri tarafından tellerle örülmüş. Yılar önce bu göl, sulama amaçlı kullanılıyormuş. Gölün etrafı kamp yapmak için çok uygun. Geniş ve gölgelik alanlar oldukça fazla. Sevdiklerinizle piknik ve mangal yapılabilir. Burada göle girmek yasak ama burada balık tutabilirsiniz. Olta meraklıları için gölde bolca sazan balıklarının olduğu söyleniyor.

Also, according to the information I learned from the local people, a unit of the Döşemaaltı municipality called the Nar Field Team comes to this region and collects the garbage around to make the environment look clean. Since there are no facilities or accommodation here, guests bring their own food and drinks. The cleaning issue, which some visitors ignored despite all warnings, was resolved by the municipality.

Bir de yöre halkından öğrendiğim bilgiye göre, Döşemaaltı belediyesinin Nar Saha Ekibi adında bir birimi, bu bölgeye gelerek etraftaki çöp atıkları toplayarak çevrenin temiz görünmesini sağlıyorlarmış. Burada herhangi bir tesis ve konaklama olmadığı için gelen misafirler kendi yiyecek ve içeceklerini yanında getiriyorlar. I've been writing travel and nature walk articles for years. We've organized trips with our group to many undiscovered or little-known spots in both the Mediterranean and Aegean regions. We've climbed high mountains and walked countless forest trails. But the moments that make me happiest are when the asphalt ends, the earth turns green, and silence reigns on the lake shores. This was one of those places.
