Gördüğüm her manzarayı , ayak bastığım her köşeyi ve karşılaştığım her güzel kareyi ölümsüzleştirmek istiyorum. Lately, we’ve turned our attention to the Aegean Region. I must admit that I’m getting more and more excited as we explore the Aegean. The more new places I see, the more I’ve come to admire the Aegean Coast. We began our Aegean explorations this year in March. Our first stop was Ölüdeniz, with its turquoise-colored sea. Then, in mid-April, our path led us to Marmaris. We spent three days exploring Marmaris and its surroundings. I took the photos you see above at Kızkumu Beach, located in the Orhaniye neighborhood of Marmaris district in Muğla province. The most distinctive feature of Kızkumu Beach, situated about 30 minutes from the center of Marmaris, is that it gives you the sensation of walking right in the middle of the sea.

Son zamanlarda rotamızı Ege Bölgesine çevirdik. İtiraf etmeliyim ki Ege'yi keşfedereken daha çok heyecanlıyorum. Yeni yerler gördükçe Ege Kıyısına daha çok hayran olmaya başladım. Ege keşiflerimize bu yıl Mart ayında başladık. İlk durağımız, tukuaz renkli deniziyle Ölüdeniz olmuştu. Ardından Nisan ayının ortalarında yolumuz Marmaris'e düştü. Üç gün boyunca Marmaris ve çevresini gezdik. Yukarıda gördüğünüz resimleri Muğla ilinin Marmaris ilçesindeki Orhaniye mahallesinde yer alan Kızkumu plajında çektim. Marmaris ilçe merkezine yaklaşık 30 dakika uzaklıkta yer alan Kızkumu Plajı'nın en önemli özelliği deniz ortasında yürüyormuş hissiyatını vermesidir.

Marmaris is home to one of the most beautiful corners of Muğla Province. On one side of the region lie mountains covered in pine forests, while on the other are coves sparkling with stunningly clear, deep-blue waters. This area ranks among the most captivating destinations, not only for its sea but also for its boat tours, nature hikes, and hidden coves waiting to be discovered. However, the beach that impressed us the most during our trip was Kızkumu Beach. When we first saw the beach, we initially thought we had arrived at an ordinary beach. But we were surprised to see a strip of sand extending into the sea. When you walk on the sand, you get the feeling that you’re walking right in the middle of the sea. I was surprised by the large number of boats docked along the shore. I suppose boat tours stop here for a break, or perhaps their routes pass through this area. There were quite a few privately owned boats. In a way, this place has turned into a small marina.

Marmaris, Muğla ilmizin en güzel köşelerinden birine sahip. Bölgenin bir tarafında çam ormanlarıyla kaplı dağlar, diğer tarafında ise, birbirinden güzel masmavi deniziyle ışıldayan koylar bulunuyor. Burası sadece deniziyle değil, tekne turları, doğa yürüyüşleri ve keşfedilmeyi bekleyen saklı koylarıyla en çok dikkat çeken bölgelerin başında geliyor. Ancak gezimiz boyunca bizi en çok etkileyen Kızkumu plajı oldu. Plajı ilk gördüğümüzde ilk başlarda sıradan bir plaja geldiğimizi sandık. Fakat, denizin içinde uzanan bir kum şeridini görünce şaşırdık. Kumun üzerinde yürüdüğünüzde denizin ortasında yürüyormuşunuz hissine kapılıyorsunuz. Plajda kıyıya yanaşan teknelerin çokluğu beni şaşırtı. Sanırım burada tekne turları mola veriyor. Ya da güzergahları bu taraftan geçiyor. Kişiye ait teknelerinin sayısı oldukça fazlaydı. Burası bi bakıma küçük bir marina haline gelmiş.

When we began our walk along the beach, the weather was calm. The sun wasn’t out, but white clouds adorned the sky in various shapes. The mountains, clad in green, stood tall and proud. The white boats moored along the shore added to the beauty, complementing the mountains and the white clouds. It was as if the calm of the bay was bringing a postcard-perfect scene to life. A sandy path stretches for about 400 meters from the shore out into the middle of the sea. Those walking on this shallow sandy path appear as if they are walking right in the middle of the sea. This sandbar lies just one or two feet below the surface of the water. In some sections, as the water recedes, we can even see the sand in the middle of the sea. The statue of the girl by the shore was placed here as a memorial to a legendary story that took place here. They have named this statue the Princess Statue.

Plajda gezimize başladığımızda hava sakindi. Güneş yoktu ama beyaz bulutlar gökyüzünü farklı şekillerde süslemişti. Dağlar yeşil giysisini giymiş, özgürce güçlü duruşlarını sergiliyordu. Kıyıda duran beyaz tekneler, dağları ve beyaz bulutları destekleyen bir güzellik ortaya koyuyordu. Sanki körfezin dinginliği bir kartpostal görüntüsünü yaşatıyordu. Sahilden denizin ortasında doğru yaklaşık 400 metre boyunca uzanan bir kum yolu bulunuyor. Sığ bir şekilde kalan bu kum yolunda yürüyenler sanki denizin ortasında yürüyormuş gibi görünüyor. Bu kum yolu denizin bir veya iki karış altında kalıyor. Bazı bölümlerde suların alçalmasıyla birlikte kumu denizin ortasında bile görebiliyoruz. Sahilin yanındaki kız heykeli ise, burada yaşanan efsane bir hikayenin anısı için koyulmuş. Bu kız heykele de Prenses Heykeli adını vermişler.

Another detail that caught my eye on the beach was the colorful flowers—some growing naturally and others specially arranged and placed by the beachside businesses—right at the water’s edge. As I walked along the shore, the view of the sea and mountains peeking through the flowers and plants was absolutely beautiful. The boats anchored across the way add a special touch to this beauty. The calm waters of the bay, the lush green hills encircling the shore like a barrier, and the scent of pine mingling with the air give this place a very special and natural look.

Plajda dikkatimi çeken bir ayrıntı da kıyıda kumun hemen kenarında bazıları kendiliğinden bazıları da özel olarak hazırlanıp, sahil kenarındaki işletmeler tarafından konulan rengarenk çiçekler oldu. Kıyıda yürürken çiçeklerin ve bitkilerin arasından görünen deniz ve dağlar çok güzel görünüyor. Karşıda demirleyen tekneler ise, bu güzellliğe ayrı bir hava katıyorlar. Körfezin sakin suları, kıyıyı bir abluka gibi çevreleyen yemyeşil tepeler ve havaya karışan çam kokusu burayı çok özel ve doğal bir görünüm kazandırmış.

Just a short distance past Kızkumu Beach lies a private marina. On the way to the marina, you’ll find a row of charming guesthouses and bungalows along the roadside, each with its own front garden and lush greenery. Most of these establishments haven’t opened for the season yet. They’ve beautifully decorated the area, perfectly complementing the beach. The colorful flowers planted along the walking paths and the green grass placed along the edges have made the surroundings look absolutely beautiful. The cafes have created a true atmosphere of relaxation and vacation with their outdoor seating areas and the view across the way. The wooden bungalows are so luxurious and meticulously crafted that one feels as though they’ve escaped the chaos of daily life, even if just for a few days.

Kızkumu plajının biraz ilerisinde özel bir yat limanı bulunuyor. Yat limanına giderken yol kenarında birbirinden güzel ve önü bahçe ve yeşilliklerden oluşan çok güzel pansiyon ve bungalov evleri var. İşletmelerin çoğu sezonu henüz açmamış. Bu işletmeler plaja yakışır bir şekilde etrafı çok güzel süslemişler. Yürüyüş yolları kenarlarında oluşturaulan renkli çiçekler ve kenarlara konulan yeşil otlar etrafı çok güzel göstermiş. Kafelerin önü oturma alanları ve karşıdan görünen manzara ile tam bir dinlenme ve tatil havası yaratılmaya çalışılmış. Ahşap bungalov evleri o kadar lüks ve titizlikle yapılmış ki; insan kendini birkaç günlüğüne de olsa günlük hayatın karmaşasından uzaklaşmış hissediyor.

We spent about an hour and a half at the beach. As we walked along the shoreline, we tried to capture every beautiful scene we saw. The plants, grasses, and flowers along the shore have become so intertwined with this beach that they seem to have become an inseparable part of the sea’s deep-blue expanse. The boats moored along the shore demonstrated that this is not just a beach, but also an ideal destination for sea enthusiasts and those looking to take a boat tour.

Plajda yaklaşık bir buçuk saat kaldık. Plajın kıyı şeridi boyunca yürüyerek, gördüğümüz her güzel kareyi ölümsüzleştirmeye çalıştık. Kıyıda yer alan bitkiler, otlar ve çiçekler bu sahilde o kadar özleşmiş ki; sanki denizin masmavi görüntüsüyle ayrılmaz bir parça haline gelmişler. Kıyıya yanaşa tekneler ise, buranın sadece bir sahil değil, aynı zamanda deniz tutkunlarının ve tekne turu yapmak isteyenleri için de ideal bir bölge olduğunu gösteriyordu.

Our explorations of the Aegean Region have only just begun.
