From the moment I first saw it, I thought to myself, "This is a place where I can truly enjoy my freedom." Sarıgerme Beach, with its magnificent fine sand, which I was most curious about while traveling the Aegean coast, and whose name evoked a sense of peace in my mind, became a place that slowed me down and allowed me to take a breath of fresh air on my travel routes. Here, I felt my love for travel intensely. Let's explore Sarıgerme Beach together.

İlk gördüğüm andan itibaren içimden "Burası özgürlüğün tadını çıkarabileceğim bir yer" dedim. Ege kıyılarını gezerken o muhteşem ince kumunu en çok merak ettiğim, adını duyduğumda zihnimde bir huzur çağrıştıran Sarıgerme Plajı, gezi rotalarımda beni yavaşlatan ve rahat bir nefes almamı sağlayan bir bölge oldu. We began our tour of the Aegean coast in Marmaris, where we stayed for three days. During this time, Sarıgerme Beach, located near Sarıgerme neighborhood in Ortaca district of Muğla province, was the most exciting beach for us. Situated in a special location where the Aegean and Mediterranean seas meet, the beach stands out with its long sandy shore and sheltered natural environment. Because it's approximately 15-20 minutes from Dalaman Airport, it's a very attractive beach for those on a short holiday.

Ege kıyılarını gezmeye ilk olarak Marmaris'ten başladık. Burada üç gün konakladık. Bu üç günlük süreçte Muğla ilinin Ortaca ilçesine bağlı olan Sarıgerme Mahallesi yakınlarında olan Sarıgerme Plajı bu gezimizde bizi en çok heyecanlandıran plaj olmuştur. Ege ile Akdeniz'in birleştiği özel bir konumda yer alan plaj, uzun kumsalı ve korunaklı doğasıyla dikkat çekiyor. Plaj, Dalaman Havaalanına yaklaşık 15 20 dakika uzaklıkta olduğu için kısa süreliğe tatile gelenler için çok cazip bir plajdır.

Although Sarıgerme beach is a public beach, there is still an entrance fee. This is because the area behind the beach has been leased to a private company. The company has renovated the beach and landscaped the surroundings using its own resources. They have addressed all the beach's needs: toilets, shower cabins, changing rooms, a children's area, a fountain, picnic area, prayer room, and seating areas are all functional and usable. In fact, when we arrived, they were still working on fixing the beach's deficiencies. The walking paths behind the beach, the surrounding greenery and trees, have been meticulously and carefully maintained. The beach has a beautiful, stone-paved path made of wooden planks, winding through the green grass. There is a cafe right next to the path. In front of the cafe, they have placed seating areas offering a direct view of the sea and the beach. Because the beach is spread out over a wide, flat area, you can see your location on the map and layout board under the name SARÇED.

Sarıgerme plajı bir halk plajı olmasına rağmen giriş yine de ücretlidir. Bunun nedeni planın arka gerisinde kalan bölüm bir işletmeye kiralanmış. İşletme plajı kendi imkan ve doğrultusunda düzenleyerek, çevre düzenlemesini yaptırmış. İşletme, plajın her türlü eksiklerini gidermiş. WC, Duş Kabinler, soyunma kabinleri, çocuk alanı, çeşme piknik, mescit ve oturma yerleri hepsi kullanışlı ve çalışır hale getirilmiş. Hatta biz plaja girerken plajın eksikleri giderilmeye çalışılıyordu. Plajın gerisindeki yürüyüş alanları, etrafındaki yeşillik ve ağaçlama alanları titizlikle ve özenle yapılmış. Plajın yeşil otların arasından ahşap tahtadan yapılmış şeritli taşlı güzel bir yolu var. Yolun hemen kenarında kafeterya var. Kafeteryanın önüne denizi ve plajı tam karşıdan gören oturma alanları koymuşlar. Plaj, geniş düz bir alana yayıldığı için SARÇED adı altında gezi ve vaziyet planını gösteren panodan nerede olduğunuzu görebiliyorsunuz.

When we arrived at the beach, the most captivating detail was Sarıgerme's fine, soft, golden sand. It's the kind of sand where you can comfortably run and walk barefoot without hesitation. The sea, compared to other beaches, is a bit shallow and gradually deepens. The surface of the water looks extremely clean and clear. However, depending on the wind, the sea can be choppy in the afternoon. We stayed until midday. The sea, which was calm and still in the morning, started to get choppy in the afternoon.

Plaja indiğimizde, bizi büyülenen en önemli detay ise Sarıgerme'nin altın sarısı ince ve yumuşak kumu oldu. Çıplak ayakla hiç tereddüt etmeden rahatça koşabileceğiniz ve yürüyebileceğiniz bir kuma sahip. Denizi ise diğer plajlara nazaran biraz sığ ve yavaşça derinleşen bir denize sahiptir. Denizin yüzü son derece temiz ve berrak görünüyor. Ama öğleden sonra rüzgara da bağlı olarak deniz dalgalı olabiliyor. Biz öğleye kadar buradaydık. Sabah durgun ve sakin olan deniz öğleden sonra dalgalanmaya başladı.

The beach is managed by SARÇED (Environmental Education Foundation). Therefore, the beach is both sheltered and equipped with all the necessary amenities for swimming. Lifeguard services, sun loungers, and umbrellas are luxurious and carefully selected. This beach is also one of the few in Turkey to have received the "Blue Flag" award. The sign displays information about the Blue Flag award, the beach's safety system, environmental behavior guidelines, and the wildlife living in the area.

Plaj, SARÇED ( Çevre Eğitim Vakfı) tarafından yönetiliyor. Bu yüzden plaj hem korunaklı hem de denize girmek için ihtiyacımız olan tüm olanaklar sağlamaya çalışılmış. Cankurtaran hizmeti, şezlong ve şemsiyeler lüks ve özenle seçilmiş. Bu plaj aynı zamanda "Mavi Bayrak" ödülünü almış sayılı plajlarımızdan birisidir. This beach has two more important features that distinguish it from other beaches on the Aegean coast. Firstly, it has been designated as a Caretta-friendly beach. Secondly, this area has been designated as a natural habitat for the Sea Lily. Both Caretta turtles and Sea Lilies are under the protection of SARÇED (Sariginal Aegean Environmental Protection and Conservation Association). Therefore, Sarıgerme Beach is not just a beach, but also part of a sensitive ecosystem. This area is a habitat and breeding ground for Caretta caretta sea turtles. It also has a larger natural breeding ground for Sea Lilies. A large sign in front of the beach provides some information about Sea Lilies. They grow in all Mediterranean countries and on the southern coasts of the Black Sea. They are endangered. It is forbidden to export any type of lily found in Türkiye.

Bu plajın diğer Ege kıyılarındaki plajlardan iki önemli özelliği daha var. Onlardan biri, Caretta dostu plajı seçilmiştir. Diğeri ise, Kum Zambağının doğal yetişme alanı olarak bu bölge tayin edilmiştir. Hem carettalar hem de kum zambakları SARÇED'in korumasında gözetilmektedir. Bu yüzden Sarıgerme Plajı, yalnızca bir plaj değil, aynı zamanda hassas bir ekosistemin parçasıdır. Bu bölge caretta caretta deniz kamlumbağalarının yaşam ve üreme alanıdır. Aynı zamanda kum zambaklarının doğal yetiştirme alanı bu bölgede daha fazladır. Kum zambakları ile ilgili plajın hemen önünde büyük panoda bazı bilgiler verilmiş. While walking around the beach, we came to the area where children were playing. There was a large, flat area among the trees with benches for families and lovely toys for the children. I really liked the long, blue, train-shaped children's play area among the trees. You could never get bored here. The children were so happy and joyful; they didn't want to leave the play area. Everyone was sitting with their loved ones, chatting and having snacks. There were also toilets, showers, and changing rooms in this area. But the most important detail that caught my eye was how clean everything was. We were very happy to not see a single piece of trash on the ground.

Plajın etrafını gezerken çocukların oyun oynadığı alana geldik. Ağaçların arasında geniş düz bir alanda aileler için oturma bankları ve çocuklar için de çok güzel oyuncaklar koyulmuş. Ağaçların arasındaki mavi uzun tren görünümlü çocuk oyun alanı çok hoşuma gitti. Burada insanın hiç canı sıkılmaz. Çocuklar o kadar mutlu ve sevinçli ki; oyun alanından ayrılmaz istemiyorlar. Herkes sevdikleriyle birlikte oturmuş sohbet ediyor ve bir şeyler atıştırıyordu. Bu alanda da WC Duş ve soyunma kabinleri de vardı. Ama gözüme çarpan en önemli detay etrafın tertemiz olmasıydı. Yerde bir tane çöp görmemiş olmamız bizi çok mutlu etti.

After leaving the children's area, it was 1 PM. The wind began to gently pick up. We went to the seashore. The calm sea slowly began to ripple. As the waves crashed against the shore, a foamy spectacle began on the sand. We dipped our feet in the sea from the shore. The sea temperature was quite good for spring. Some people even went swimming. We didn't dare. Besides, we needed to return to Marmaris.

Çocuk alanından ayrılmaktan sonra, saat 13.00 olmuştu. Rüzgar hafif hafif kendini hissettirmeye başladı. Biz de denizin kıyısına geldik. Sessiz sakin kalan deniz yavaş yavaş dalgalanmaya başlamıştı. Dalgalar kıyıya vurdukça kumların üstünde köpüklü şölen gösterisi başladı. Biz de ayaklarımızı kıyıdan denize soktuk. Bahar mevsimine göre denizin sıcaklığı gayet iyiydi. Hatta denize girenler bile oldu. Biz cesaret edemedik. Zaten Marmaris'e geri dönmemiz gerekiyordu.

The area around the beach is quite developed in terms of tourism, with accommodation options including resort hotels, boutique hotels, and holiday villages. Some establishments are even within walking distance of the beach, meaning you can jump into the sea within minutes of waking up in the morning.

Plajın etrafında Turizm açısından oldukça gelişmiş, konaklama imkanları var. Bunlar arasında resort oteller, butik oteller ve tatil köyleri arasında tercih yapma imkanınız da var. Hatta bazı tesisler doğrudan sahile yürüme mesafesindedir. Bu da sabah uyanır uyanmaz birkaç dakika içinde denize girebileceğiniz anlamına geliyor.

Sarıgerme Beach, with its loggerhead turtles, sand lilies, long sandy beach, and easy accessibility, stands as one of Muğla's most precious natural treasures. It is truly one of the most beautiful beaches nature has to offer. If you ever find yourself in Dalaman, I highly recommend you don't miss it.
