Iztuzu Beach / İztuzu Plajı ( EN-TR)

Now I’d like to take you to one of Turkey’s most enchanting beaches—a place we’ve been eagerly awaiting to step into as summer approaches. The name of this beach is İztuzu Beach. Witnessing the unique beauty that emerges when its golden-yellow sands meet the deep-blue waters of the Mediterranean, and taking a dip there, brings a great sense of peace. Since this beach is very close to the transition point between the Aegean and the Mediterranean, many people mistakenly believe it is located in the Aegean.

Şimdi sizi, yazın kapısından içeri girebilmek için sabırsızlıkla beklediğimiz, Türkiye'nin en büyüleyici plajlarından birine doğru götürmek istiyorum. Bu paljın adı İztuzu Plajıdır. Altın sarısı kumsalı Akdeniz'in masmavi sularıyla buluştuğunda ortaya çıkan o eşsiz güzelliği görmek ve orada denize girmek insana büyük bir huzur veriyor. Bu plaj, Ege ve Akdeniz arasında geçiş noktasına çok yakın olduğu için çoğu insan bu plajın Ege'de olduğunu düşünür.

İztuzu Beach is located in the Ortaca district of Muğla Province in the Aegean Region. It is situated near the town of Dalyan in the Ortaca district. It is one of our rare beaches that serves as a transition zone between seawater and freshwater. The beach, which features fine sand, is accessible by boat from the western shore and by road from the eastern shore.

İztuzu Plajı, Ege Bölgesinde Muğla ilimize bağlı olan Ortaca ilçesinde yer alıyor. Ortaca ilçesinde yer alan Dalyan kasabasına yakın bir yerde konumlandırılmıştır. Deniz suyu ile tatlı su arasında bir geçiş görevi üstlenen nadir plajlarımızdan biridir. İnce bir kuma sahip olan plaja batı yakasından teknelerle, doğu tarafında kalan yakasından da karayolu ile ulaşım sağlanıyor.

I used to hear the name of this beach mentioned frequently in travel and tour guides. I can say that seeing the beach up close and in full swing during this season gave me some unforgettable moments. It was even more enjoyable for me to come and see it during these months and when the season hasn’t opened yet. I got excited the moment I saw the sign as I entered. They’ve set the opening time for 8:00 AM and the closing time for 7:00 PM during these months. These hours probably change in the summer. I’d heard it closes early in the summer as well. Because, just like Çıralı Beach on the Mediterranean, this area is one of the nesting sites for loggerhead sea turtles. We’d come here for a walk as evening approached. As closing time neared, we were warned by the staff and left right on time.

Bu plajın adını gezi ve tur rehberlerinde sık sık duyardım. Plajı yakından bu mevsimde canlı görmek bana unutulmaz anlar yaşattı diyebilirim. Hele bu aylarda ve sezonun açılmadığı zamanlarda gelip görmek bana daha da keyifli geldi. İçeri girerken talebi görür görmez heyecanladım. Bu aylarda açılış saatini 08.00 kapanış saatini de 19.00 olarak belirlemişler. Muhtemelen bu saatler yazın değişiyordur. Yazın da erken kapandığını duymuştum. Çünkü burası tıpkı Akdeniz'deki Çıralı plajında olduğu gibi, caretta caretta kamlumbağlarının yumurtlama alanlarından biri olarak geçiyor. Bizde akşam saatlerine doğru buraya gezmeye gelmiştik. Kapanış saati yaklaştığında görevlilerden tarafından uyarılar yapılarak tam saatinde çıktık.

As we walked past the sign for İztuzu Beach, we were captivated by the sight of the long, narrow, gently undulating sandy shore where the sea met the greenery. The beach’s empty appearance truly revealed its beauty. With only the sea and the greenery around us, the only sound we could hear was the lapping of the waves. The beach is approximately 5 kilometers long. Behind the beach, there are a few charming white wooden cabins and a couple of establishments that haven’t opened for the season yet. On one side of the beach lies the boundless Mediterranean Sea, while on the other, the calm, gently flowing sweet waters of the Dalyan River come into view.

İztuzu Plajın tabelasından içiri girdiğimizde, uzun ve ince ince dalgalı kumsalın deniz ve yeşille birleşen noktalarını görünce hayran kaldık. Plajın boş görüntüsü gerçek güzelliğini de gözler önüne seriyor. Deniz ve yeşillikle baş başa kalan plajda sadece dalga sesleri duyuluyordu. Paljın uzunluğu yaklaşık 5 kilometre civarındadır. Plajın arkasında henüz sezonu açılmamış, bir iki işletme ile beyaz ahşaptan yapılmış şirin görünümlü kabinler var. Plajın bir tarafında uçsuz bucaksız Akdeniz, diğer tarafında ise, sakin sakin akan Dalyan'ın tatlı suları görünüyor.

Taking advantage of the beach’s deserted appearance and the fact that the sand was spared from the scorching sun, we ran from one end to the other to blow off some steam. We could immediately feel the fine, soft sand beneath our feet. There are wetlands in the back areas of the beach. In fact, the information signs mention that this area could be home to many animals with high biological diversity. In particular, we can say that there are various species of birds in the green, hilly areas behind the beach.

Plajın böylesine boş görünümü ve kumsalın kızgın güneşten yoksun kalışını fırsat bilip, bir uçtan bir uça koşarak strest attık. Ayaklarımızın altındaki ince ve yumuşak kumu hemen fark edebiliyorduk. Plajın arka taraflarında sulak alanlarda mevcuttur. Zaten bilgi tabelalarında bu bölge de biyolojik çeşitliliği bulunan birçok hayvanın yer alabileceği yazıyor. Özellikle plajın gerisinde yeşil dağlık alanlarda farklı türden kuşların olduğunu söyleyebiliriz.

İztuzu Beach is among the most ideal and natural beaches for those seeking a vacation surrounded by nature and the sea. Especially in August, when the Aegean Sea takes on a turquoise hue that rivals its natural beauty, and the surrounding natural scenery draws everyone to these regions. Numerous tours are organized under the name “Pearls of the Aegean.” One of the stops on these tours is Iztuzu Beach.

İztuzu Plajı, doğa ve denizle baş başa tatil yapmak isteyenler için en ideal ve en doğal paljlar arasında yer alıyor. Özellikle Ağustos ayında Ege Denizi'nin turkuaz rengini aratmayacak şekle bürünmesi ve etrafındaki doğal güzellikleri herkesi bu bölgelere çekiyor. Ege'nin incileri adında bir çok turlar düzenleniyor. Bu turların gezi rotalarından biri de İztuzu Plajıdır.

As I left this natural beach—one of the Aegean’s hidden gems—I found myself dreaming of finding a chance this summer to take a dip in its beautiful waters.
