Good evening, blog friends, I'm back to take you to the magnificent city of Montecatini. Today we'll visit some historic buildings and avenues, including the magnificent town hall, which I loved so much. I felt like I was stepping back in time, to an Art Nouveau world, as elegant and charming as this city of a thousand surprises! So many beautiful things to discover in Montecatini! Just before the town hall, there are several beautiful Art Nouveau buildings, as well as a historic bar called Kuursal, with its rounded shapes and vaguely Oriental style. It's now a very trendy venue, but it used to be one of the most famous spas, known as the Kuursal Baths, a pavilion with a magnetic and ancient charm. A little further on is the MoCA Museum of Contemporary Art, another place I absolutely must visit as soon as possible and I will obviously take you with me. This museum is also located right next to the city hall and is very famous because it often hosts art exhibitions.

Justo antes del ayuntamiento, hay varios edificios modernistas preciosos, así como un bar histórico llamado Kuursal, con sus formas redondeadas y su estilo vagamente oriental. Ahora es un lugar muy de moda, pero antiguamente era uno de los balnearios más famosos, conocido como los Baños Kuursal, un pabellón con un encanto antiguo y magnético. Un poco más adelante se encuentra el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo MoCA, otro lugar que sin duda debo visitar cuanto antes y al que, por supuesto, te llevaré conmigo. Este museo también está situado justo al lado del ayuntamiento y es muy famoso porque suele acoger exposiciones de arte.

But now let's talk a little about the town hall that stands where the local stables once stood. The building was built around 1917. It is a building with the typical appearance of the period but also with some unusual elements. Due to the First World War, the building only opened its doors in 1920. The building has a monumental external appearance, the interiors are very rich in a style that mixes Art Nouveau and Baroque, the decorated ceilings are magnificent and a famous Art Nouveau artist, Galileo Chini, had a hand in it, who designed the architecture, the frescoes that referred to the idea of good community and government, the skylights, the sculptures and the stained glass windows.

Today, the first floor of the building serves as a town hall and post office, maintaining its vintage style. It almost feels like you're in the Harry Potter bank when you enter the counters, and it also serves as a post office. Everyone who enters is truly enchanted by this place and its artistic and architectural beauty. Unfortunately, some rooms are closed to the public, and the upper floor is undergoing restoration. However, you can still see the magnificent marble columns, frescoes, and statues. It's truly a beautiful building. From this building, you can also access the Museum of Contemporary Art for a fee, or when they hold free events. Pero ahora hablemos un poco del ayuntamiento que se alza donde antes estaban los establos locales. El edificio fue construido alrededor de 1917. Es un edificio con la apariencia típica de la época, pero también con algunos elementos inusuales. Debido a la Primera Guerra Mundial, el edificio no abrió sus puertas hasta 1920. El edificio tiene una apariencia exterior monumental, los interiores son muy ricos en un estilo que mezcla Art Nouveau y barroco, los techos decorados son magníficos y el famoso artista Art Nouveau Galileo Chini tuvo algo que ver en su diseño, diseñando la arquitectura, los frescos que aluden a la idea de una buena comunidad y gobierno, las claraboyas, las esculturas y las vidrieras. Hoy en día, la planta baja del edificio funciona como ayuntamiento y oficina de correos, manteniendo su estilo clásico.

Casi se siente como estar en el banco de Harry Potter al entrar en las ventanillas, y también funciona como oficina de correos. Todo aquel que entra queda verdaderamente encantado por este lugar y su belleza artística y arquitectónica. Lamentablemente, algunas salas están cerradas al público y la planta superior está en obras de restauración. Sin embargo, aún se pueden admirar las magníficas columnas de mármol, los frescos y las estatuas. Es un edificio realmente hermoso. Desde este edificio también se puede acceder al Museo de Arte Contemporáneo pagando una entrada, o cuando organizan eventos gratuitos.
