Good evening blog friends, how are you? Today I finally had a more peaceful day and I wanted to share with you a trip I took last week. As you know, I'm moving to another city that I don't know much about. A few days ago, my husband and I decided to explore the surrounding area, also taking the opportunity to go and get some furniture in the countryside near the city. So we went to Chiesina Uzzanese, a fairly large municipality that connects the city of Montecatini with large areas of countryside that reach as far as the Fucecchio marshes, which I want to visit sooner or later because everyone says it's very beautiful (but it's better to visit it in winter/autumn because in summer the marshes are full of mosquitoes and insects). However, Chiesina Uzzanese is also famous because it was a stop on the Via Francigena and a place where pilgrims were welcomed on their journey. Today, it is still a very active place of passage, but obviously it is no longer a stop on pilgrimages, even if it maintains, especially in the rural areas, various paths for walking and trekking, also because on one side it borders the Cerbaie hills and Pescia, which is a very large city located in the mountains. I've been here several times in the past because for those who love villages and nature, there are some truly beautiful gems here. It's even called "Little Switzerland" for its natural beauty. Chiesina Uzzanese is divided into several hamlets: a central one, one to the north, and one to the south. However, it's still a vast area; if you have time, there's so much to explore!

Anyway, we started from Montecatini, starting from the commercial area made up of unattractive high-rises (well, industrial areas aren't always attractive), then we found ourselves towards the center, made up of small white or brown houses—rather anonymous at first, which disappointed me a bit, because the houses in Valdinievole are usually the typical colorful ones that adorn Pistoia and the surrounding province. Then we approached Chiesina Uzzanese and finally we began to see some greenery. First, some somewhat bare parks, but then finally we arrived at countryside areas, alternating with villas and houses, as is typical in the area, this time much prettier and more colorful. Some residential buildings in the area were truly beautiful to look at! Also beautiful are the various farmhouses scattered throughout the countryside among the large green fields, an area where it would be nice to take long walks if the weather is good. Anyway, I'll say goodbye for now, I'll leave you with photos of this trip, and soon I'll take you to a small but charming hamlet of Chiesina Uzzanese that really struck me, and to other hamlets in the area! See you soon, blog friends!
