Road trip through the Prato area, the new market square, the outskirts and the small church. (ENG/ESP)

Good evening, blog friends, I'm back with you to take you on a trip to Prato and its surroundings, which, as I mentioned in previous posts, I've been visiting often these days due to moving. Today we're going to a very simple and pretty side of Prato, in one of the areas close to the center, on the outskirts. Here, compared to the surrounding areas of the city, you're already starting to see a more urbanized feel, even though there are still green spaces with trees typical of the area. Here, we completely abandon the rural area and dive into the city. Although some smaller, traditional houses and old shops remain, here we are right in the city area, and in fact, you can see large modern buildings, which, in my opinion, are very well-built and don't ruin the overall aesthetic. They are also beautiful buildings, colored like the typical houses of the area: dark pink, green, yellow, light blue, a beautiful area. We first went to a square called the New Market Square. It looked more like a parking lot with lots of buildings around it than a square, but whatever. We heard there's also an old market square, but since it was too central and difficult to get to, they moved the big market here where there's more space, which is why it's called the New Market Square.

Buenas noches, amigos del blog, vuelvo con vosotros para llevaros de viaje a Prato y sus alrededores, que, como ya os he comentado en entradas anteriores, he estado visitando a menudo estos días por mi mudanza. Hoy vamos a una zona muy sencilla y bonita de Prato, en una de las zonas cercanas al centro, a las afueras. Aquí, en comparación con los alrededores de la ciudad, ya se empieza a notar un aire más urbanizado, aunque todavía hay zonas verdes con árboles típicos de la zona. Aquí, abandonamos por completo el campo y nos adentramos en la ciudad. Aunque quedan algunas casas tradicionales y antiguas tiendas, estamos en plena ciudad, y de hecho, se pueden ver grandes edificios modernos que, en mi opinión, están muy bien construidos y no arruinan la estética general. También son edificios preciosos, con los colores de las casas típicas de la zona: rosa oscuro, verde, amarillo, azul claro; una zona preciosa. Primero fuimos a una plaza llamada la Plaza del Mercado Nuevo. Parecía más un aparcamiento con muchos edificios alrededor que una plaza, pero bueno. Oímos que también hay una antigua plaza del mercado, pero como era demasiado céntrica y de difícil acceso, trasladaron el gran mercado aquí donde hay más espacio, por eso se llama Plaza del Mercado Nuevo.

Apparently the people of Prato don't have much imagination when it comes to names, but it's a large square surrounded by buildings and trees—a lovely place for a market, indeed. Honestly, I liked the surrounding streets better, finding them very bright and full of beautiful, well-kept buildings and cute little shops. The Christmas decorations were still hanging here, just like in Pistoia; evidently, both cities still have a desire for decorations! We then saw a very pretty little church, which unfortunately was closed. It's called the Church of Humility. It's said to be one of the oldest in the city, just outside the city walls. It seems that in ancient times, this area was a lively place of exchange and commerce. The church has a very simple and clean appearance, with clean lines. It was rebuilt in the 1700s and is a small church that isn't very popular. I would have liked to see the interior, because small churches often hold great surprises, but unfortunately that wasn't possible. I hope you enjoy this little tour of mine. Parece que los pratenses no tienen mucha imaginación para los nombres, pero es una gran plaza rodeada de edificios y árboles; un lugar encantador para un mercado, sin duda. Sinceramente, me gustaron más las calles de los alrededores, muy luminosas y llenas de edificios preciosos y bien cuidados, y tiendecitas con encanto. Los adornos navideños seguían colgados, igual que en Pistoia; ¡evidentemente, ambas ciudades siguen teniendo ganas de decorar! Luego vimos una iglesita muy bonita, que por desgracia estaba cerrada. Se llama la Iglesia de la Humildad. Se dice que es una de las más antiguas de la ciudad, justo fuera de las murallas. Parece que en la antigüedad, esta zona era un animado lugar de intercambio y comercio. La iglesia tiene una apariencia muy sencilla y limpia, con líneas limpias. Fue reconstruida en el siglo XVIII y es una iglesia pequeña y poco popular. Me habría gustado ver el interior, porque las iglesias pequeñas suelen deparar grandes sorpresas, pero por desgracia no fue posible. Espero que disfruten de este pequeño recorrido.
