Journey through the mountains of Prato, to Figline di Prato!/ ¡Viaja a través de las montañas de Prato, hasta Figline di Prato!

Good evening, blog friends, how are you? Today I'm taking you with me to Prato again, but this time we're leaving the city and heading towards the Prato mountain area. We're going to Figline di Prato, which shouldn't be confused with Figline di Firenze. The town of Prato is among the first towns on the way to the Prato mountains. As you slowly move away from the city, you begin to see older, slightly more run-down houses, but still with the typical colors of the area—houses built from farmhouses and then divided, painted in light or brown colors. Then the area becomes greener, and you begin to see various charming fields, with a few houses scattered here and there—a landscape that I like much more than the city—it's much more peaceful and pleasant. Figline is a medium-sized town because it starts from the climb and then winds through various hamlets up the mountains, some of which are difficult to reach and with dirt roads (which luckily we were able to travel because we have a car suitable for dirt roads, luckily).

Figline runs entirely along the Bardena stream, a small stream that winds through the Prato mountains, more precisely along the road leading to the Cantagallo area, which borders the Accerino Nature Reserve, a beautiful reserve I've mentioned several times because I often visit there in the summer. Figline has medieval origins and was famous for its terracotta trade. It also has a few small museums, but residents have told me they are almost always closed due to lack of funding. It's a sparsely populated area, but many have second homes because it's cooler there in the summer.

It seems like a peaceful place, though some of the roads to get there are a bit awkward—not just the dirt roads, but also the small, winding ones surrounded by the beginnings of woods or fields. The woods are a bit barren and dark, very different from the lush and beautiful ones in the nature reserve, but they still have their charm. We then stopped for a while to visit some friends who live there, and unfortunately, they weren't happy about the inconvenient roads. However, they have plenty of green space for their dog; in fact, almost everyone here has pets. It was a simple and pleasant outing. Perhaps if the weather had been nicer, we could have explored the area more thoroughly and perhaps even taken a few longer walks through the woods, but unfortunately, the weather is grey these days. Now, goodbye, and see you soon, blog friends.
