Good morning, blog friends, how are you? Today I'm taking you with me to a little village decorated for Christmas, a place I forgot to show you but found in the gallery. The town is called Mammiano and is located in the Pistoia mountains, divided between Mammiano Alto and Mammiano Basso. For years, it was very famous in the mountains because the ironworks there employed practically the entire town and surrounding villages. Now, however, it remains a very lively town, with a lot of foot traffic and tourism, especially in the summer. In winter, it's very cold, like all mountain towns, but it's a truly lovely place. I would have loved to visit it in the snow; it would have been very evocative. Maybe next year; this year, it's snowed very little. Mammiano, like many mountain villages, is a small medieval town. However, it's best known not for the village itself but for its suspension bridge, one of the longest in Italy, located in Mammiano Basso and always attracting many people. In my opinion, the town is also very pretty, even if it's small, and during the holidays it really feels like a fairytale town with a magical, special atmosphere.

Like many other mountain villages, Mammiano is famous at Christmas for its nativity scenes (although the most famous nativity scene in the area is Le Piazze, which I visit almost every year to see them). Almost all of them were traditional and simple, but very charming to see, especially because many were located in unique places, such as niches and cross-holders, or small corners of the village's stone houses. The Christmas decorations were beautiful, with stars (it seems they had a predilection for bright stars—they were everywhere), dark and light lights, garlands of all kinds with pine cones, handmade objects, and various other Christmas decorations. Of course, every house in the village also had its own decorations, and almost all had lights of various colors on the terraces or in the windows, as is typical here in Tuscany during the Christmas season. Mammiano is truly a delightful town to visit at Christmas, especially in the evening when you can see all the lights and bright decorations. See you soon, blog friends!

I love Christmas so much! But this year I didn't have enough energy to decorate the house. War is very exhausting...

So sorry to hear in your country there is still a war 😭 I can't even imagine of living in a country under a war.
