I've been there a few times because it's my husband's hometown, and today I returned. Montemurlo is a town on the border between Prato and Pistoia, surrounded by countryside and industrial areas. It's a densely populated and beloved city, with everything you need, including shops, services, doctors' and veterinary offices, bars, restaurants, and even various volunteer and aid organizations. It's a popular city because it's close to everything. It's between two cities, but much less chaotic than Pistoia and Prato. In short, a great place to live and grow up, my husband told me. Today we mainly visited the outskirts, which has recently been renovated thanks to work on one of the town's old squares. This area is mostly made up of buildings and apartments, some new, others dating back to the 1980s and 1970s. We also passed the town hall, which was also renovated a few years ago, an elegant building with brown shutters that overlooks the new, modern and simple square.

Then we stopped for a stroll around the city. There are several parts of this place I hadn't seen, some glimpses even of the outskirts are very beautiful. There are pretty avenues with large trees providing shade, and there are also several green areas. Although some are semi-paved, they all have beautiful trees and lush shrubs. It's nice for a city to have green spaces; the greenery lessens the stark contrast with the buildings and asphalt. We also wandered around the new square, but I have to say it's a bit anonymous, all gray asphalt and with a large parking lot next to it—useful but not very attractive. Luckily, on the way back, we found the more rural and less modern parts, with many simple houses typical of the area, fields, and charming villas. It was nice to return to Montemurlo again. Luego nos detuvimos a dar un paseo por la ciudad. Hay varias partes de este lugar que no conocía, incluso algunas vistas de las afueras son muy bonitas.
