Good evening, bloggers, how are you? Here I am again, taking you to a beautiful place. I've been out a lot these days on trips and at events, and I've been quite busy, but here I am now. Today, I'll take you to visit one of the prettiest parks in Pistoia, Monteuliveto Park, and its surroundings, including the Church of San Benedetto. When I was young, the park had a terrible reputation; it was a hangout for drug addicts, especially in the 1990s. It was poorly maintained, run-down, and very different from what it is today. Today, thanks to extensive renovations, the park has regained its beauty. In fact, it's become an important location.
It's one of the main venues for LGBT events, hosting open-air cinema, sporting events, and concerts. It's also a park where children's activities and summer camps are held, as well as many other events. They've even opened a lovely and very popular bar where they also host ceremonies, parties, and birthday parties. In short, from a place of degradation it has become one of the liveliest and most vibrant parks in Pistoia. It is quite large and divided into various areas, one of which has a playground, a skateboarding field, an area for free-roaming dogs, a bar and of course a large green area, a large, well-kept lawn with benches and relaxation areas surrounded by trees as well as various green paths.
There are also small fountains and very charming waterways. It is a truly lovely park for relaxing, having a picnic, walking or spending time with family.

Luckily, the park offers plenty of shade, because it was really hot. In fact, we even stopped at the bar for a refreshing beer and cold water; it was almost 30 degrees outside. I also wanted to show you the church of San Benedetto, an ancient medieval church dedicated to the Benedictine saints. It was once a convent. Its medieval origins have seen only a few alterations over the centuries, and it was also home to a seminary in the early 20th century. Unfortunately, we couldn't see it from inside because there was a ceremony taking place. However, it's a large, simple church, very popular in the city, especially with the Bot Scouts, who have their headquarters here.
It's also said to be a favorite of the bishop; I'll have to see the interior one day. Next to the church, there's another small park dedicated to one of Italy's iconic actresses, Anna Magnani. It's a small but delightful park with many beautiful, fragrant flowers surrounding a tree-lined square, which is in turn surrounded by old houses, giving this little park a delightful, simple feel. I really hope you enjoy this little tour of the two parks and their surroundings. See you soon, my friends.
