Happy Monday, blogging friends, how are you? Here I am again for a short trip around the city where I'm moving. Today we went to Pieve a Nievole, a small town located just before Montecatini. The road to get there is partly the same as that for Montecatini. I really like it because it offers a pleasant view of various green spaces with tall pine trees and some beautiful houses. However, instead of continuing towards Montecatini, to get to Pieve a Nievole you take a junction and turn left. However, as the name suggests, this town is also part of the wide Val di Nievole. It owes its name to a small parish church that was once well-known to pilgrims. Today, it is a very populous town, even though in the past, like many surrounding towns, it was predominantly rural and inhabited by farmers. Today, it has been completely redeveloped, so much so that it has become one of the most popular towns in the valley, where real estate agents try to sell as many houses as possible. It is a town close to the countryside but with all the amenities and with many newly built houses perfect for families. Furthermore, it is close to two larger cities, Montecatini and Monsummano, which I have already told you about in previous posts. The Nievole River runs through it, which was indeed a great asset for crops, today it is mostly used by some factories and as a walkway along the banks for dog owners to go for walks.

Pieve a Nievole has a history of conflict, unfortunately, as it has always been a source of conflict for the larger nearby cities. However, with the economic boom, especially in the real estate sector, the town has recovered significantly and today boasts many businesses, pharmacies, restaurants, and shops. It is primarily a residential area. In fact, during our walk, we saw many very beautiful and well-kept houses and villas, certainly not cheap. Furthermore, the town also offers many green spaces, although small, but very well-maintained and cared for, almost seeming like a place for an idyllic small-town life. When I have more time, I would like to explore the larger parks and surrounding rural areas more closely. I also really liked the view of the surrounding mountains, which are clearly visible from every part of the town. It is a very quiet and charming little town, in my opinion, an ideal place for walks. I hope you enjoyed my little post, and I'll see you soon on my next trips!
