A few days ago, my husband and I, looking for furniture, ventured out of the city, heading towards Prato and Florence, where there are more businesses, shops, and large real estate chains than in my hometown. There are also several furniture factories where you can find more unique furniture at lower prices. Anyway, today I'm taking you to an area I really liked. Here we are in Prato, in an area near the industrial area called Macrolotto. This neighborhood is the most industrialized part of Prato and is located a bit far from the city center. This area is also characterized by the strong presence of the Chinese community, which is very large throughout the city. To get here, you initially pass through a green area, characterized by fairly well-kept fields and parks, with a few houses in the background. The green area is very beautiful, but being close to the industrial area, it is not immune to pollution; in fact, it is not cultivated but merely used as a transit area and for its beauty.

Buenas noches, amigos del blog, hoy os llevo de nuevo a un pequeño viaje fuera de la ciudad. Hace unos días, mi marido y yo, buscando muebles, nos aventuramos a salir de la ciudad, rumbo a Prato y Florencia, donde hay más negocios, tiendas y grandes inmobiliarias que en mi ciudad natal. También hay varias fábricas de muebles donde se pueden encontrar muebles más exclusivos a precios más bajos. En fin, hoy os llevo a una zona que me gustó mucho. Estamos en Prato, en una zona cerca del polígono industrial llamado Macrolotto. Este barrio es la parte más industrializada de Prato y está un poco alejado del centro. Esta zona también se caracteriza por la fuerte presencia de la comunidad china, muy numerosa en toda la ciudad. Para llegar, primero se atraviesa una zona verde, caracterizada por campos y parques bastante bien cuidados, con algunas casas al fondo. La zona verde es muy bonita, pero al estar cerca del polígono industrial, no es inmune a la contaminación; de hecho, no se cultiva, sino que simplemente se utiliza como zona de tránsito y por su belleza.

Then, of course, beyond the fields lies the industrial zone, made up of large and small factories, mostly furniture, fashion, and transportation. There are many large and small buildings made of concrete and other materials, giving the area a modern feel that contrasts with all the surrounding fields.

Obviously in this area the Chinese presence is noticeable also because many signs and indications are written in two languages, in fact in our tour we saw very few Italians and most of the businesses were Chinese.

Esta zona fue antaño una zona rural y pantanosa, pero con el tiempo, gracias a la industrialización y al auge de la industria textil, en especial la textil, la zona, aunque aún cuenta con extensos campos, se ha convertido en un centro comercial. Hoy, sin embargo, está altamente urbanizada, con numerosos repetidores de electricidad y teléfono, e incluso algunas incineradoras.

En resumen, es uno de esos lugares a las afueras de la ciudad, pero de gran importancia. Obviamente en esta zona la presencia china es notoria también porque muchos carteles e indicaciones están escritos en dos idiomas, de hecho en nuestro recorrido vimos muy pocos italianos y la mayoría de los negocios eran chinos.
