Good evening or good night, Hive friends, today I'm putting my posts about my trip to Terracina on hold for a bit to tell you about a closer place where I visited for Epiphany before going to lunch with some relatives who live there. It wasn't the best day, as it was raining and in some villages it was even snowing, and it was very cold. But the rain certainly didn't diminish the charm of this small town, which I love. Montale is a small town located on the Pistoia plain, close to both the main city and other smaller towns. This medium-sized town is also close to the typical Pistoia countryside, made up of long fields, olive groves, green spaces, and farmhouses. This town is a little nest in the middle of the countryside. From Montale, you can also see the mountains of Prato and Tobbiana quite close by. It has several smaller hamlets, and in addition to the town itself, which has everything you need—shops, supermarkets, doctors, pharmacies, offices, etc.—it also has some more remote areas made up of clusters of houses, especially villas and very beautiful homes with gardens. Due to its location, this area is very expensive to buy or rent. We had looked into living in this town, but the prices are incredibly high!

Hoy dejo a un lado mis publicaciones sobre mi viaje a Terracina para contarles sobre un lugar más cercano que visité para la Epifanía antes de ir a comer con unos familiares que viven allí. No fue el mejor día, pues llovía y en algunos pueblos incluso nevaba, y hacía mucho frío. Pero la lluvia no le restó nada al encanto de este pequeño pueblo, que me encanta. Montale es un pequeño pueblo situado en la llanura de Pistoia, cerca tanto de la ciudad principal como de otros pueblos más pequeños. Este pueblo de tamaño mediano también está cerca de la típica campiña de Pistoia, compuesta por extensos campos, olivares, espacios verdes y casas de campo. Este pueblo es un pequeño rincón en medio del campo. Desde Montale, también se pueden ver las montañas de Prato y Tobbiana muy cerca. Tiene varias aldeas más pequeñas, y además del pueblo en sí, que tiene todo lo necesario (tiendas, supermercados, médicos, farmacias, oficinas, etc.), también hay zonas más remotas formadas por grupos de casas, especialmente villas y casas muy bonitas con jardín. Montale is a very pretty town. The houses here are usually small and colorful, or terraced houses, typical of the area. The streets were still decorated, and I would have liked to see the decorations lit, but unfortunately it was daytime. The beauty of Montale is that it's a quiet place. Many families with children live here. It has all the amenities, and while it's a small town, it's not very busy, with avenues wide enough for walking. There's little noise, and as far as I know, there's very little crime. However, I confess I prefer the more rural area, surrounded by trees, to the small town. The olive groves here are magnificent, and the oil my relatives sometimes give me is excellent quality and also quite expensive. I like the trees that surround the town—pines, cypresses, and some oaks—and I love the view of the surrounding mountains, which conveys peace and serenity. In short, it's a place I always enjoy going to, rain or shine, but it's definitely more pleasant when the weather is nice! Goodbye, blog friends, see you soon!

Montale es un pueblo muy bonito. Las casas suelen ser pequeñas y coloridas, o casas adosadas, típicas de la zona. Las calles aún estaban decoradas, y me habría gustado verlas iluminadas, pero por desgracia era de día. Lo bueno de Montale es que es un lugar tranquilo. Aquí viven muchas familias con niños. Tiene todas las comodidades, y aunque es un pueblo pequeño, no es muy concurrido, con avenidas lo suficientemente anchas para caminar. Hay poco ruido y, que yo sepa, hay muy poca delincuencia. Sin embargo, confieso que prefiero la zona más rural, rodeada de árboles, al pueblo pequeño. Los olivares son magníficos, y el aceite que a veces me regalan mis familiares es de excelente calidad y también bastante caro. Me gustan los árboles que rodean el pueblo —pinos, cipreses y algunos robles— y me encanta la vista de las montañas circundantes, que transmite paz y serenidad.
