Hello, travelers from all over the world.

Timotes treated us to beautiful spots and incredible views of its landscapes, but the time came to leave this charming little town behind and continue our journey toward the Páramo Merideño, along the Mérida–Timotes Highway, while still enjoying the mountains offered by the Venezuelan Andes. I really love feeling the cool breeze against my skin and the scent reminiscent of freshly cut grass.

We passed by a small religious temple, the Chapel of San Benito or Stone Chapel, which was very close to our next stop. We wanted to visit it, but even though it was still morning, we were already running short on time for everything we wanted to do that day.

We arrived at Curva del Sancocho, a popular tourist spot with beautiful scenery. Although it’s just a road with a curve, it gets its name from a restaurant that sells sancocho a rib or chicken soup prepared in most Venezuelan homes on Sundays.

In this beautiful natural setting, a cute little puppy greeted us. As we walked through the green grass at the foot of the mountain, we came upon a river flowing slowly, and we could hear the gentle sound of the water hitting the rocks.

A beautiful white cove appeared as we walked along the riverbank; we could hear the breeze rustling the branches of the leafy trees. There were a few makeshift food stalls, and I also found an interesting way to recycle tires this also contributes to environmental protection and the preservation of nature.

I found it interesting how crowded the place was; there was a playground for the little ones and a swing made from a huge tire, on which I felt like a little girl again. I spent some time swinging and enjoying the company and all the beauty that life was giving me at that moment. I was in Mérida, one of the most magical places in Venezuela, and that means a lot to me.

See you soon, travelers!
