Good morning, travelers from around the world! I am happy to greet you again and take you on a tour of the San Juan Bautista Church in Mesa del Esnujaque, Trujillo State, another little corner of my beloved Venezuela.

This religious temple is quite modest, with a very simple design and structure, which I suppose is normal for a small town. Four large bases support its roof, and it also has a bell tower that is characteristic and common in this type of church. In addition, its external façade has a glass window with Saint John the Baptist, which is difficult to see clearly due to its proximity to the roof. Some windows await the mosaics of virgins and saints inside.

Once inside, you can see how the columns support the wooden ceiling, with enormous chandeliers hanging from it. You can also see the light coming in through the stained glass windows, bringing the interior to life.

In the first niche, my attention was drawn to some images associated with the Holy Spirit in reliefs on the frame. It also contained an image of the Heart of Jesus with a small altar surrounded by angels. It seemed like a very intimate space for offering prayers to God, decorated with flowers.

The second niche was also similar to the previous one, except that it featured other symbols associated with the Church. Several saints and virgins were arranged on a wooden altar, and this space was also used for the sacrament of baptism, as the baptismal font was located there.

Its main altar is very simple but filled with light from outside. It mainly features Jesus Christ, Saint John the Baptist, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Near them is one of our Venezuelan saints, Dr. José Gregorio Hernández, who was born in the state of Trujillo. Near the altar lie the immortal remains of Father Javier Furgiele, who dedicated his entire life to the faith.
