Monument to the Five White Eagles | Monumento a las Cinco Águilas Blancas 🦅

Good afternoon, travelers from around the world.
After a long day exploring beautiful landscapes, enjoying the cool weather on the moorland route, and collecting endless memories, we arrived in the capital of Mérida just as the sun was setting. There was a long line of vehicles waiting to enter the "City of Knights," a name it earned from its ancient title.
Immediately after passing the line, we were greeted by the Monument of the Five White Eagles; we made a brief stop to take a closer look. This is a little spot that gives meaning or rather, a representation to the Poem of the Five White Eagles, written by Tulio Febres Cordero as an act of love and freedom for the skies of Mérida. The poem is inscribed on a plaque next to the monument.
Looking more closely at the Eagles perched on stone bases or arches, I thought: "Wow, it’s as if they were in the sky, since two of them have their wings spread, simulating flight," while the other three seem to be waiting for some prey; the landscapes and the sky gave it a charming and unforgettable touch.
At the entrance, there is not only a monument honoring the White Eagles, but also a fountain with a very colorful and eye-catching phrase: "We Are Mérida," which delicately reflected the entire surroundings, including the sky and the eagles in the water. This completely captivated me, and luckily for us, there were no tourists in the area taking pictures, which allowed us to fully enjoy this space
At this point in the day, we were feeling very happy because we had arrived safely in the city of Mérida after visiting so many tourist sites and small towns that connected us to part of its history, culture, and heritage, as well as the dreamlike landscapes that make this region so magical.

Buenas tardes, viajeros de todo el mundo.
Después de un largo día recorriendo hermosos paisajes, disfrutando un clima frío en la ruta del páramo y almacenando un sin fin de recuerdos, llegamos a la capital de Mérida justo al atardecer, había una larga fila de vehículos para poder entrar a la "Ciudad de los Caballeros", recibe esta connotación por su antiguo nombre.
Inmediatamente luego de pasar la fila, nos recibió el Monumento de las Cinco Águilas Blancas, hicimos una pequeña parada para verlo más de cerca, este es un rinconcito que le da un significado o mejor dicho una representación al Poema de las Cinco Águilas Blancas, escrito por Tulio Febres Cordero, como un acto de amor y libertad para los cielos merideños, dicho poema se encuentra en una placa a un costado del monumento.
Al ver más de cerca a las Águilas que se encuentran sobre unas bases o arcos de piedras pensé: "Wao, es como si estuvieran en el cielo ya que dos de ellas se encuentran con sus alas abiertas, simulando su vuelo", en cambio las otras tres parece que están a la espera de alguna presa, los paisajes y el cielo le daban un toque encantador e inolvidable.
En la entrada no solo se encuentra un Monumento en honor a las Águilas Blancas, sino una fuente con una frase muy colorida y llamativa: "Somos Mérida", que delicadamente reflejaba todo el entorno, entre esos el cielo y las águilas en su agua, eso me cautivo por completo y para nuestra suerte no había ningún turista en esta zona tomándose fotografías, lo que nos hizó disfrutar de este espacio
Para este momento del día nos sentíamos muy felices, porque llegamos con bien a la ciudad de Mérida, después de recorrer tantos lugares turísticos y pueblitos, que nos conectaron con parte de su historia, cultura y patrimonio, además de los paisajes de ensueño que hacen de esta región tan mágica.
