Good morning, world travelers. Happy Sunday, everyone.
Our first trip of 2026 was postponed for a few days due to the current situation in my country, which is why the atmosphere is full of uncertainty, so we decided to wait for things to calm down and wait a little longer. On the other hand, I wanted to show you some monuments that we found on our last trip back home, right at the entrance to Carora, in Lara state, on the Lara-Zulia Highway.

The first monument is dedicated to the great Venezuelan musician Alirio Diaz, known for playing the guitar. He was born in Carora and dedicated his life to doing what he loved. He took lessons on various musical instruments such as the saxophone and clarinet, but always leaned towards stringed instruments. He was part of the Caracas Martial Band, and it is said that when he finished his music studies in Venezuela, he traveled to Europe and gave various performances and recitals in Spain and Italy. He was also a writer, and some of his works were published, the best known being Al divisar el humo de la aldea nativa (Seeing the Smoke from the Native Village).

Further along the same road are some colorful and cheerful letters spelling out Carora, in which the letter C shows the strings of a guitar, the first A refers to the Ruins of La Pastora, and the O is shaped like a paper fan. There is a beautiful space filled with round cacti that we affectionately call buches, which reminded me a lot of the one we have at home.

Then there is a monument to La Virgen del Rosario de Chiquinquir谩 de Aregue, patron saint of Carora, who is a manifestation of La Chinita, venerated in the state of Zulia. It is the first time I have seen it, and for a moment I was confused by the similarity.

Finally, a monument commemorating part of its history with the Ruins of La Pastora or Carora, with a fountain behind it that was turned off but surrounded by palm trees that perfectly matched the blue of the sky.

It's a shame I couldn't explore the streets of Carora, but just from the entrance, I can see that it's a city steeped in culture, religion, and history, which I hope to learn more about on a future trip to Lara State.
For now, I bid you farewell. Until next time!

Buenos d铆as, viajeros del mundo.

隆Hasta la pr贸xima vez!
