Happy New Year, travelers! I hope that 2026 brings many trips and adventures for all of you.

After a wonderful journey through the mountains and magnificent landscapes of Lara State that took us from Cubiro to Sanare, we made two stops in this charming town, starting with the Santa Ana Church, which is not only part of the faith of the parishioners devoted to their patron saint, Santa Ana, but also part of their heritage and culture.

This religious temple is old and has been remodeled a couple of times. It is built on red brick foundations, its external façade has two towers with domes and crosses on both, it has two side doors and a main door. Above the frame of the main door, you can see a delicate image of Saint Anne made with river stones, which were harmoniously arranged to form the shape of their patron saint. I really liked that detail.

Once inside, I discovered that the ceilings are made of wood, which gives them an antique look, although the lamps are modern and updated, and there are benches made of the same material as the ceiling for anyone who wants to give thanks to God or have a moment of prayer with the Blessed Sacrament. There is a corridor in the center that leads directly to the altar.

In one of the niches, something caught my attention: the Virgin of Candelaria, who, incidentally, is housed in a huge wooden box with external details such as a map of Venezuela. It was made in gratitude for a favor granted to this Marian devotion. Right next to it is a space with different images of Jesus Christ, but it was closed.

It has two side wings. On the left is the Virgin of Carmen, with Jesus Christ and Saint Joseph in the center, and on the right is the Holy Sacrament in the background. The latter space felt like it was filled with immense peace and tranquility, directly connected to faith, as some people were praying on their knees.

I thought the altar was perfect, carved in wood with ideal spaces to hold the Heart of Jesus, Saint Anne, in the center the Holy Trinity, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and Saint Francis Xavier. Like the Church of Saint Michael the Archangel in Cubiro, this one also had an Advent wreath in place prior to the birth of the Baby Jesus.

The town of Sanare has a beautiful religious temple that is undoubtedly a jewel for its people. I hope to have the opportunity to visit it again.
See you soon, travelers!

Happy New Year 2026 to you too @noalys😎🤙
What a wonderful simple church. 💕
Simple but with beautiful details.
It is great to know Santa Ana Church is recognized as a relevant structure in your town. You see, people just thinks of tourism as a word for beautiful waterfalls, beaches, or mountains. But churches also make up the tourism of a particular municipality. Through this written blog, you opened many eyes and catched tourists for sure to visit this relevant church who holds many history and stories of the town. It has the narrative no other places can narrate and the symbol of faith in Sanare. Anyways, happy new year @noalys ❤️
For me, traveling and sightseeing encompasses many aspects, from tourist attractions to beautiful landscapes. I don't like to leave any of them out, and whenever time allows, I visit each one to treasure the memories of each of my trips. Sanare is one of those places.
