What a trip, sounds quite gruelling in a way but sometimes as you say, it’s the only way of fitting in so much in a single trip.
I’ve been watching a TV series on Australia recently, charting the travels of TV chef Rick Stein, from here in the UK. His wife is Australian.
I’ve never been but feeling enticed now after reading this!!!

@nicklewis the Anglesea golf club here is down the end of my street. This is literally where I live and where I grew up.
