There's one place in Java that I have never set foot in and that city is called Bandung. This city is known for its delicious snacks, affordable and trendy fashion. Having to travel around Jakarta almost every weekend, somehow, I never have the opportunity to visit this city until last week.
There are several options to get to Bandung but one of the fastest way is through Whoosh, the high speed rail system, one of its kind in the country. It connects Jakarta to Bandung for only 30 minutes for a trip that supposedly takes about 3 to 3.5 hours depending on the traffic.

Unlike regular train station, this High-speed rail station operates similar to an airport. The compound is really modern but if you've been to China, Laos, and around East Asia, the compound feels a lot more familiar. That's because it's operated by KCIC ( Kereta Cepat Indonesia China) a joint venture between Indonesian state owned company and China.
The interior inside is slightly better than executive train. The price is about $14 for the economy class and goes up to double for the executive compartment. We got the economy one because there was 5 of us and obviously, my boss doesn't want to pay the premium price. From this place, I got a puzzle for one of my nephew who is obsessed with train.

Still, this train doesn't directly stops at Bandung. We still have to get into the freeder to finally reach bandung. So, the entire trip is about 40-45 minutes than just 30 minutes.

Once we reached Bandung, rather than having unique dishes from the place, the team choses this Japanese Bento for the convenience. I was more than overjoyed since it's to my taste 😂 but I know, if they "wine and dine" us, something worse bound to happen. It's just the rule working in this field.
Bandung greeted us with its chilly temperature. It was quite striking considering we've spent 3 days battling the weather and pollution in Jakarta. But we know, it was only going to be somewhat less than 24 hours visit because in the morning, we have to go to Cianjur, neighboring city of Bandung.
During our car ride to where we stayed, Bandung has plenty Karaoke and Spa that it intrigued me. I guess this city is built that way to accommodate people from Jakarta who wanted to unwind from the hustle and bustle of that city.

It's unfortunate because even the next day, we only get to explore some government building rather than actual tourist site. But hey, next time you visit Indonesia, don't forget to try this High Speed Rail. It's one of its kind and pretty convenient to get into Bandung from Jakarta.
I got some invitation from a student of mine from Bandung but I was there for a short time. I told them that if I have the chance next time, I'd stay more than just a day.
Basically, this time it marks a completion that I visited all major cities in Java and I am pretty proud of that 😂 and next, there will be more places I'd visit.
And as @selfhelp4trolls label this "fancy job", I'd stick around with it just to explore the nook and crannies of Indonesia while getting paid.

Looks like an enjoyable visit.
It’s brilliant to be able to visit different places, even if only for a short time, as these are work trips, and the best bit is that you had the chance to travel to Bandung on that high-speed train. Journey times are cut down considerably, even if you have to change to another train. I haven’t tried my country’s high-speed train yet, but I’ve heard it’s brilliant!
I hope you get another chance to explore those places in more depth, as well as to make up for that visit you missed out on. It’s great to get to know cities whilst being paid to do so. Here’s to many more trips!! Big hugs!🤗

hello @avdesing, maybe it's time to try the speed rail in your country. I am sure it's going to be interesting experience for you. One of these days, I'll have to check out this place and explore it ( before the weather turned into rainy days) haha
I’ll wait until they’ve sorted everything out after that terrible accident a while back, better to be safe than sorry.😌
The last time I visited Bandung was in 2016. It's been a long time. There was no Whoosh back then. Seeing your post makes me want to visit again.
I'd definitely recommend it. Try Whoosh from Jakarta-Padalarang ( Bandung) or vice versa, that'd be quite a trip.
insyaallah, if I have the fortune, I will go there and try it.
