For the past few years, one place has become my regular escape into the night sky — a quiet observation spot in Sopotnia Wielka.
It takes me about 1.5 hours to get there from home, which is just the right distance: far enough from city lights, yet close enough to visit often. Because of that balance, I find myself returning there again and again whenever the forecast looks promising.
What makes this location special isn’t just the darkness, but also the consistency. I know the terrain, the horizon, and how the sky behaves throughout the seasons. That familiarity makes every session smoother and more rewarding — especially when chasing deep-sky objects or capturing wide-field compositions.
Over time, this spot has witnessed many of my astrophotography attempts — some successful, some experimental — but all meaningful. It’s a place where patience meets silence, and where the sky truly feels within reach.
Below are a few frames I captured during recent visits. 🌌
