Brazil - Sunset stroll in Foz do Iguaçu: a giant Ferris wheel and some extra time to enjoy the hotel pool. / Paseo hasta el atardecer en Foz de Iguazú: rueda gigante y tiempo extra para aprovechar la pileta del hotel. 😃❤️

One of the things I was worried about when staying for an entire week in the Iguazu Falls area was not knowing what to do. Since most people only spend a few days here to see the falls, staying for a whole week sounded like a lot of time. But if there’s one thing my dad and I enjoy, it’s walking, so we always knew how to fill our days with outings. One of them was the one we took on the second day of our trip, when we walked about 10 kilometers in total, simply wandering around the urban area of Foz, Brazil 😃.

Una de las cosas que me preocupaba de quedarme una semana entera en la zona de las Cataratas del Iguazú era el no saber qué hacer. Como la mayoría de la gente solo destina unos pocos días a este lugar para conocer las cataratas, quedarse una semana entera sonaba como mucho tiempo. Pero si hay algo que nos gusta a mi papá y a mí es caminar, así que siempre supimos como llenar nuestros días de paseos. Uno de ellos fue el que hicimos el segundo día de nuestro viaje, en donde caminamos unos 10 kilómetros en total, solo dando vueltas por la parte urbana de Foz, Brasil 😃.

Something that made getting around the city much easier for us was the availability of Uber. Just like back home, using Uber as a means of transportation was very convenient and saved us from having to rely on public transportation as much, while also saving us time. We had started our outing a little early, which allowed us to explore the area around the hotel and visit one of the largest shopping malls in the area. Later in the afternoon, we decided to take a car to the Triple Frontier area, where we would also find the huge Ferris wheel.

Algo que nos facilitó bastante el traslado por la ciudad fue la existencia de Uber. Al igual que en casa, usar Uber como medio de transporte era muy cómodo y nos salvaba un poco de usar el transporte público, además de ahorrar tiempo. Habíamos empezado nuestro paseo un poco temprano, lo que nos permitió recorrer los alrededores del hotel y conocer unos de los shoppings más grandes de la zona. Más hacia la tarde, decidimos tomarnos un auto hasta la zona de la triple frontera, en donde también encontraríamos la gran Rueda Gigante.

By the time we arrived, we happened to catch a beautiful sunset, so of course we took plenty of photos. My dad loves taking pictures of the two of us, which is why we have so many photos from all the places we visit. Unfortunately, by the time of our visit, the Three Borders Landmark was closed, so we could only take pictures from the outside. But when we got closer to the Ferris wheel, we were able to get a better view of the giant bridge and the horizon toward Paraguay.

Para el momento de nuestra llegada, justo nos tocó un atardecer hermoso, por lo que obviamente las fotos no faltaron. A mi papá le encanta que nos saquemos fotos, así que por eso tenemos muchas en todos los lugares que visitamos. Lamentablemente, para el momento de nuestra visita, el Marco de Las Tres Fronteras estaba cerrado, así que solo tuvimos fotos desde afuera. Pero cuando nos acercamos a la rueda, pudimos obtener una mejor vista del puente gigante y el horizonte hacia Paraguay.

With regard to the Ferris wheel, it looked beautiful, and once it got dark, it looked even better. Of course, I wanted to ride it, but we had read that the ticket would cost half the price over the weekend. Since we had the whole week to spend there, we decided we would come back that day, so for the time being, we just took some photos with the Ferris wheel in the background. This place is set in a large open field, so there were plenty of people having picnics.

Con respecto a la Rueda, se veía hermosa y cuando anocheció, lo era aún más. Por supuesto que yo quería subir, pero habíamos leído que para el fin de semana, el ticket costaría la mitad del precio. Como teníamos toda la semana para estar por ahí, decidimos que volveríamos ese día, así que por el momento, solo nos tomamos fotos con la rueda de fondo. Este lugar está en un gran campo despejado, por lo que había mucha gente haciendo picnic.

The night was beautiful, so we walked part of the way back until we decided to take an Uber to the hotel again. One thing I was worried about when booking our accommodation was how hot it would be in the area, so I thought we would need a pool. When we arrived, that turned out to be exactly the case, as it was over 30°C every day. The pool was even open at night, so before getting to the hotel, we stopped to buy some supplies and then took a dip. The hotel I had booked for us was very luxurious, and I got it for a good price online, so even that turned out well on this trip.

La noche estaba hermosa, así que volvimos caminando un poco del camino de regreso, hasta que decidimos volver a tomar un Uber hasta el hotel. Algo que me preocupaba en el momento de reservar en alojamiento sería el calor que haría en la zona, por lo que pensaba que necesitaríamos una pileta. Cuando llegamos, esto efectivamente fue así, ya que todos los días hicieron más de 30°C. Incluso de noche la pileta estaba abierta, así que antes de llegar al hotel, pasamos a comprar algunas provisiones y luego nos dimos un chapuzón. El hotel que reservé para nosotros era muy lujoso y lo conseguí por un buen precio en internet, así que hasta eso fue bueno en este viaje.

A day of sightseeing and quite a bit of walking allowed us to see several of the interesting things Foz had to offer. Of course, the highlight of the trip would be visiting the majestic waterfalls, but in the meantime, getting acclimated to Brazilian territory was good for us. I also liked knowing that we had several days ahead of us and that we wouldn't have to rush to do everything we wanted. I love traveling, but I also wanted to have some time to rest before going back to work. With good planning, we managed to make both things possible ❤️.

En un día de paseo y de bastante caminata, fuimos capaces de conocer varias de las cosas interesantes en Foz. Por supuesto que el paseo estrella sería ir a ver las majestuosas cataratas, pero mientras tanto, aclimatarnos al territorio brasilero nos venía bien. También me gustó saber que teníamos varios días por delante y que no tendríamos que estar corriendo para hacer todo lo que queríamos. Me encanta viajar, pero también quería tener momentos de descansar antes de volver al trabajo. Con una buena organización, hicimos que las dos cosas fueran posibles ❤️.
