Argentina - Visit to a park in the city of Resistencia, Chaco and a curious encounter with a replica of David. 😃❤️

Before visiting the province of Chaco, I knew it was a hot place, but I confirmed it for good once I was there. Despite it being May and autumn being quite present, the heat felt intense during the day. That’s why the best time to go out for a walk was almost at sunset, when the sun had calmed down a bit. During my time exploring Resistencia city, I did a park tour, and one of the parks I visited included a somewhat international surprise 😃.

While visiting Chaco, I discovered Uber moto rides for the first time. I was fascinated by how affordable they were and by the convenience of this type of transportation. For almost the same price as a bus ticket, I could get a ride exactly where I wanted to go, not to mention how fast the trip was. To this day, I still use this service whenever I’m about to be late for work.

On my second day in the province, I visited another famous local park. It was the Parque Intercultural 2 de Febrero, very close to the Parque de la Democracia, which I had visited the day before. I asked locals for recommendations on places to visit, and they suggested this one because of its famous open-air museum. When I arrived, I literally found exactly that: a gallery with several works of art on display for everyone to see.

The park had a very family-friendly atmosphere, and you could tell the temperature had already cooled down, because it was full of families and children spending the afternoon there. The place was quite spacious, and you could walk through different areas featuring sculptures made by local artists. Each one had the name of its creator, its meaning, and its date of creation. It truly felt like a museum in the middle of a public square.

But without a doubt, the sculpture that captured everyone’s attention was the one placed in the middle of the exhibition, standing out among all the others. It was nothing more and nothing less than a full-scale replica of David. It was both very impressive and quite curious to find this sculpture there, and it made me wonder what Chaco has to do with this work by Michelangelo. I suppose the local artist was so fascinated by this masterpiece that they wanted to see it in their own city.

In addition to the museum, the park had a fair with handicrafts and a few food trucks where you could grab something to eat. The whole day felt very friendly, and the park was so nice that it made you want to stay longer. When night fell, I decided to walk back to my hotel, since the weather was more than pleasant. This day in Chaco turned out really well, and even though my original plan was to visit a nature reserve—which I couldn’t do because there were no bus tickets left—I ended up enjoying the improvised plan just as much.

Of course, I couldn’t leave this park without leaving my Worldmappin mark. Sticking my sticker somewhere here was quite difficult, because everything was full of trees and there were hardly any nice light poles to place it on. In the end, I found a decent spot in a corner of the square, although it wasn’t very photogenic. But don’t worry: at least I managed to take a good photo of it with the sign before leaving my definitive mark on the square of Chaco’s David 😃.

The walk through this park was beautiful, definitely full of charm, with a museum, places to eat, and lovely weather for exploring it without any problems. The sculpture is truly impressive, and the best part is how vibrant it is, with families and children enjoying special moments together. It's wonderful to be able to visit such interesting places. Thank you for sharing such beautiful photos, my friend @lauramica. Greetings and blessings.

Good morning, dear friend @lauramica

This region of Argentina is known for its high temperatures for much of the year; that's why people tend to go for walks very early in the morning or at dusk.

Resistencia is known as the city of plazas, and it truly has beautiful green spaces.

How wonderful that you continue to use Uber Moto after discovering it!

What a lovely ride! You took some beautiful photos.

Have a great day!

Wow, what an awesome park! Those sculptures are brilliant; it's amazing to see local artists exhibit their work, especially in such a cool location. Sunset is not only a perfect time for a walk, as it's cooler, but it also really helps your photos look even better!
