Argentina - My #travelgoal 23 of 23: Corrientes. /// Mi #travelgoal 23 de 23: Corrientes. 😃❤️

I always imagined how exciting it would be to write the final post for my #travelgoal section, and today the day has finally come to do it. This has been a long, long journey visiting at least one place in each of Argentina’s 23 provinces, and I must say every trip was worth it. Throughout all these years, I had the chance to explore every place I set out to visit, at different paces, but always with the same desire to discover a little more about the country we live in. Reaching the province of Corrientes was the final step I needed to complete my travel checklist, and it was just as satisfying as I had hoped ❤️.

Siempre pensé en lo emocionante que sería escribir el último post para mi sección de #travelgoal y hoy finalmente llegó el día de hacerlo. Este ha sido un largo, largo recorrido visitando al menos un lugar de cada una de las 23 provincias de Argentina, y debo decir que valió la pena cada paseo. En todos estos años, tuve la oportunidad de conocer todos los lugares que me propuse, a distintos ritmos, pero siempre con las mismas ganas de descubrir un poco más del país donde vivimos. Llegar a la provincia de Corrientes fue el paso que me faltaba para terminar de cerrar mi check list de viaje, y fue tan satisfactorio como esperaba ❤️.

I started writing this section for my blog on July 28, 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, when we could barely even step outside our homes. Up until that point, I had visited 9 provinces of Argentina in different contexts: educational trips, family vacations, as a couple, and with friends. Then, in 2021, with the help of Hive, I was able to continue traveling, and little by little those trips became longer and more fun, to the point that I spent nearly two years living like a “backpacker.” This was something I had never imagined for myself, but since I dared to travel alone, my horizons definitely expanded.

Empecé a escribir esta sección para mi blog el 28 de julio de 2020, en la plena pandemia cuando casi no podíamos salir ni a la vereda. Hasta el momento, había visitado 9 provincias de Argentina en distintos contextos: viajes educativos, familiares, en pareja, con amigos. Luego en 2021, con ayuda de Hive, pude continuar con los paseos, que de a poco se volvieron más largos y divertidos, hasta el punto de estar como "mochilera" por casi dos años. Esto era algo impensado para mí, pero desde que me animé a viajar sola, mis horizontes definitivamente se expandieron.

But after so much nomadic adventure, in 2025 I began to feel that it was time to settle down a bit somewhere and start my adult life with its responsibilities, with the goal of building something for the future. That thought led me to organize myself and plan what would be my final trip of this kind, with all my free time at my disposal. That’s how I mapped out a journey that would allow me to visit the last four provinces left on my list, the final one being the province of Corrientes. To make this possible, I was lucky to count on some friends from Hive, Gabi and Luis, who generously offered to host me in their home while I was traveling through that part of the map.

Pero después de tanta aventura nomade, en 2025 empecé a sentir que era tiempo de asentarme un poco en algún lugar y empezar mi vida adulta y de responsabilidades, con el objetivo de construir algo a futuro. Ese pensamiento me hizo organizarme y planear lo que sería mi último paseo de este estilo, con todo mi tiempo libre a disposición. Así fue que planeé un recorrido que me permitiera pasar por las últimas cuatro provincias que me quedaban en mi lista, siendo la última de ellas la provincia de Corrientes. Para eso, tuve la suerte de contar con unos amigos de Hive, Gabi y Luis, quienes desinteresadamente se ofrecieron a hospedarme en su casa en el tiempo que anduviera por aquella parte del mapa.

Finally, I arrived in the city of Corrientes on May 19, 2025, thus completing my goal of having visited at least one place in every Argentine province. I stayed with them from Monday until Thursday night, during which we explored the city extensively and spent a lot of time together. I was already somewhat familiar with Corrientes through all the photos Luis shares on his blog (@jlufer), but seeing this place in person was on another level. I was especially excited to see the golden beaches, which truly had that beautiful color.

Finalmente, llegué a la ciudad de Corrientes el 19 de mayo de 2025, dando por concluido mi objetivo de haber estado en al menos un lugar de cada provincia argentina. Me quedé con ellos desde el lunes hasta el jueves a la noche, en donde recorrimos un montón la ciudad y compartimos tiempo juntos. Yo ya conocía un poco Corrientes a través de todas las fotos que comparte Luis en su blog (@jlufer), pero ver este lugar en persona fue otro nivel. Especialmente me emocionaba conocer las playas doradas, que de verdad tenían este color hermoso.

One of the classic postcards of Corrientes is the one that features the General Manuel Belgrano Bridge, which connects the city of Resistencia in Chaco with the city of Corrientes, crossing over the Paraná River. In the weeks before, I had been in Resistencia and could have easily reached Corrientes by taking a bus across the bridge, but I decided to detour first to Paraguay to visit my friend Noe. After all, I knew that sooner or later I would see this iconic view.

Una de las típicas postales de Corrientes es aquella que muestra al Puente General Manuel Belgrano, aquel que une a las ciudades de Resistencia en Chaco con la Ciudad de Corrientes, pasando por encima del Río Paraná. En las semanas anteriores yo había estado en Resistencia y podría haber llegado fácilmente a Corrientes usando un bus que atravesara el puente, pero desvié mi ruta primero hacia Paraguay para visitar a mi amiga Noe. Después de todo, sabía que tarde o temprano vería este lugar.

One might think that yellowish sand is something very common, but what’s unusual about this place is that this sand belongs to the shore of a river. Usually, sand is found near the sea, but here in Corrientes it lies along the banks of the Paraná River. In Buenos Aires, if you approach any river, you’ll probably find dirt or clay, but in this city they have a small version of a beach. Additionally, everything was set up for the summer season, with umbrellas and facilities to spend the day, including a hot water dispenser to prepare mate.

Uno podría pensar que el arena amarillenta es algo muy común, pero lo raro de este lugar es que esta arena es la costa de un río. Generalmente, el arena se ubica cercana al mar, pero acá en Corrientes la tienen a orillas del Río Paraná. En Buenos Aires, si te acercas a cualquier río probablemente encuentres tierra o arcilla, pero en la ciudad ellos tienen una pequeña sucursal de la playa. Además, todo estaba preparado para la temporada de verano, con sombrillas e instalaciones para pasar el día, incluyendo un dispenser de agua caliente para preparar mate.

Another beautiful thing about Corrientes was that art can be found on every corner: the city is full of stunning murals of different kinds that decorate all kinds of spaces. I found the city to be very colorful and well maintained, which is always appreciated by visitors. At the time of my visit, it wasn’t yet jacaranda season, when the city is covered in beautiful purple trees; but even without seeing that, I could tell how lovely everything was. I think this place has a bit of everything to be enjoyed all year round.

Otra cosa hermosa de Corrientes era que el arte se encuentra en cada rincón: la ciudad está llena de hermosos murales de distintos tipos que adornan todos los espacios. Esta ciudad me resultó muy colorida y bien mantenida, lo que siempre es bien recibido por los visitantes. Para el momento de mi visita, aún no era la temporada de jacarandás, cuando la ciudad se tiñe de hermosos árboles violetas; pero aún sin ver esto, pude notar lo lindo que era todo por ahí. Yo creo que este lugar tiene de todo un poco para disfrutarla todo el año.

For me, it is a source of pride to finally be able to say that I have visited every province in Argentina. I’m grateful to Gabi and Luis for helping me with this final step and for showing me the beautiful city where they live. Completing this travel goal I set for myself doesn’t mean the end of my journeys across Argentina, because fortunately our country is so vast that there is always something more—and more beautiful—to discover. On the contrary, it inspires me to keep exploring what other amazing places are out there, both within our borders and beyond. But for now, I’m enjoying the fact that I was finally able to complete my cherished list, and it has been a pleasure to share it with my friends from Hive—thank you all for your support over these years ❤️.

Para mí es un orgullo poder decir que finalmente pude estar en todas las provincias de Argentina. Doy gracias a Gabi y Luis por haberme ayudado en este último paso, y por haberme mostrado la hermosa ciudad en donde viven. Terminar este objetivo viajero que me propuse no significa que se terminan los viajes por Argentina, porque por suerte, nuestro país es tan inmenso que siempre hay algo más y más hermoso para ver. Al contrario, me impulsa a querer seguir descubriendo qué otros lugares geniales hay, acá adentro y más allá de la frontera también. Pero por ahora, disfruto que al fin pude completar mi tan preciada lista y fue todo un placer compartirla con mis amigos de Hive: gracias por todo su apoyo en estos años ❤️.
