Although it is one of the least touristy provinces on my list, in a short time Santiago del Estero showed me several of its beauties. Fortunately, the good weather accompanied me, which made my stay even more amazing. The day before, I had taken advantage of the City Tour Bus to explore some of the outskirts of the city, but I saw such beautiful places that I decided to return on foot so I could explore them more leisurely. Among them was the Tara Inti Natural Reserve, one that definitely deserved a stop with a bit more time 😃.

Para ser una de las provincias menos turísticas de mi lista, en poco tiempo, Santiago del Estero me mostró varias de sus bellezas. Por suerte el buen clima me acompañó, lo que hizo que mi estadía sea aún más genial. El día anterior había aprovechado para tomar el Bus del City Tour para explorar un poco de las afueras de la ciudad, pero vi lugares tan lindos que me propuse volver caminando para poder explorarlos más relajadamente. Entre ellos, estaba la Reserva Natural Tara Inti, una que definitivamente merecía una parada con un algo más de tiempo 😃.

From the tourist bus, the distances had seemed a bit longer to me, but after checking the map I saw that there were only 6 kilometers from the city center to the reserve. As you may know, I love walking, so this did not represent a real problem for me. Also, since it was daytime, my new friend Carina was available to accompany me on this walk. After I finished my morning curation tasks on Hive, we both set off on this walk.

Arriba del bus turístico, las distancias me habían parecido un poco más largas, pero después de revisar el mapa vi que solo habían 6 kilómetros desde el centro de la ciudad hasta la reserva. Como sabrán, a mí me encanta caminar así que esto no representaba un verdadero problema para mí. Además, como era de día, mi nueva amiga Carina estaba disponible para acompañarme en esta caminata. Después de que yo terminé mis tareas matutinas de curación en Hive, ambas emprendimos esta caminata.

The day was truly beautiful and invited you to go out, but nevertheless, siesta time is more than sacred in this province. The largest number of people we ran into was at a fair near the river, but after that, our walk was almost deserted. In the interior of my country, Argentina, the afternoon hours are used to sleep and take shelter from the high temperatures, but my itinerary of only three days in the city did not allow me time to sleep, even though I would have loved to do so.

El día estaba verdaderamente precioso e invitaba a salir, pero sin embargo, la hora de la siesta es más que sagrada en esta provincia. La mayor cantidad de gente que nos cruzamos fue en una feria cerca del río, pero después de eso, nuestro paseo fue casi desolado. En el interior de mi país Argentina, las horas de la tarde se usan para dormir y resguardarse de las altas temperaturas, pero mi itinerario de solo 3 días en la ciudad no me permitía tiempo para dormir, aunque me hubiese encantado hacerlo.

The walk with Carina was truly pleasant: despite having met just two days earlier, I felt like we had been friends for a long time. She was also traveling solo at that time, so together we made a great walking duo during the time our paths crossed. Besides, we are both Geminis, so we chatted a lot until we finally arrived at the reserve. Time flew by.

La caminata con Carina fue de verdad agradable: a pesar de habernos conocido tan solo hacía dos días, sentía que éramos amigas de mucho tiempo. Ella también se encontraba como viajera solitaria en ese momento, así que juntas hicimos una buena dupla de paseo en el tiempo que nos cruzamos. Además, las dos somos geminianas, así que charlamos un montón hasta que finalmente llegamos a la reserva. El tiempo pasó volando.

The Tara Inti Natural Reserve is located on an island on the Dulce River, so its entrance is a large white bridge that connects it to the mainland. Crossing the entire river on foot is a very nice experience, and once inside the reserve, you come across wooden walkways that allow you to walk around the whole area. This place is a reservoir of a lot of local fauna and flora, so everything was well signposted and protected. There were also some sculptures depicting dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals, although it was not clear to me whether they were actually related to this province.

La Reserva Natural Tara Inti se ubica en una isla sobre el Río Dulce, por lo que su entrada es un gran puente blanco que la conecta con tierra firme. Cruzar todo el río a pie es una muy linda experiencia, y una vez dentro de la reserva, te encontras con unas pasarelas de madera para poder recorrer todo. Este lugar es el reservorio de mucha fauna y flora local, por lo que estaba todo bien señalizado y protegido. También habían algunas esculturas ilustrando dinosaurios y otros animales prehistóricos, aunque no me quedó claro si realmente tenían que ver con esta provincia.

During the walk, we were able to read plenty of informational signage about the reserve, and there were also several viewpoints to observe the landscape. The walkways guided you into a circular route around the entire island, making it possible to see this area from all angles. I really liked that we made our way to this reserve, as it fulfilled the quota of walking and nature that I like to have on my trips. I would say it was a well-spent siesta hour.

Durante el recorrido pudimos leer bastante cartelería informativa sobre la reserva, y también habían varios miradores para observar el paisaje. Las pasarelas te guiaban hasta un recorrido circular por toda la isla, por lo que fue posible ver esta área desde todos los ángulos. Me gustó mucho habernos acercado hasta esta reserva, ya que esto cumplió con la cuota de caminata y naturaleza que me gusta tener en mis paseos. Yo diría que fue una hora de la siesta bien aprovechada.

Taking a more relaxed stroll to the Tara Inti Reserve was a great choice for a sunny afternoon. I thoroughly enjoyed this place and the company of Carina, a wonderful and spontaneous friend. Santiago del Estero has so much to discover, and it was fantastic to be able to see even a little of what it has to offer. My stop in the city of Termas de Río Hondo was definitely one I couldn't miss ❤️.

Hacer este paseo un poco más relajado hasta la Reserva Tara Inti fue una gran elección para una tarde soleada. Disfruté mucho de este lugar y de la compañía de Carina, una buena amiga espotánea. Santiago del Estero tiene mucho para descubrir, y fue genial poder ver aunque sea un poquito de lo que tiene para ofrecer. Mi paso por la ciudad de Termas de Río Hondo fue una parada que definitivamente no podía perderme ❤️.
