Argentina - Discovering the city of Corrientes: art on every corner and nature to enjoy. / Descubriendo la ciudad de Corrientes: arte en cada rincón y naturaleza para disfrutar. 😃❤️

Arriving in the city of Corrientes as the final step in my journey through all the provinces of Argentina made me very happy. It was a long road completing my travel checklist, and seeing the trip I had been planning for months in my Excel come to life was very satisfying. Fortunately, the good weather accompanied me during my stay in this place, allowing for several beautiful walks. Long walks were part of my days in the company of Gabi and Luis, who kindly showed me their favorite spots ❤️.

Haber llegado a la ciudad de Corrientes como último paso en mi recorrido por todas las provincias de Argentina me puso muy feliz. Fue un largo camino completando mi check list de viaje, y ver materializado el paseo que durante meses estuve planeando en mi excel fue muy satisfactorio. Por suerte, el buen clima me acompañó durante mi estadía en este lugar, lo que permitió varias caminatas hermosas. Las caminatas extensas fueron parte de mis días en compañía de Gabi y Luis, en donde ellos amablemente me mostraron sus lugares preferidos ❤️.

Gabi and Luis are friends from Hive who hosted me in their home while I was visiting the province of Corrientes. From there, we had to take a bus to reach the city center, and in just a few minutes we were already in the most touristy part of the area. Of course, this was the most elegant zone, with many beautiful buildings, parks, and the famous waterfront of Corrientes. We had planned a long walk for that day, so we set out early to make the most of it.

Gabi y Luis son unos amigos de Hive que me hospedaron en su casa mientras estaba de visita en la provincia de Corrientes. Desde ahí, teníamos que tomar un bus para llegar al centro de la ciudad y en unos pocos minutos ya estábamos en la parte más turística del lugar. Por supuesto, esta zona era la más elegante, con muchos edificios lindos, parques y la famosa costanera de Corrientes. Teníamos planeada una gran caminata para ese día, por lo que salimos temprano para poder aprovecharlo bien.

We began our walk in Mitre Park, a large green space designed for recreation. After walking for a bit, we took a moment to have breakfast and recharge before heading toward the waterfront. Out of all the places, this was my favorite, because you could see the beautiful Paraná River, accompanied by a lovely riverside promenade. From there, we could also see the impressive General Manuel Belgrano Bridge, which connects Resistencia, the capital of Chaco, with the city of Corrientes.

Empezamos nuestra caminata en el Parque Mitre, un gran espacio verde preparado para la recreación. Después de caminar un poco, nos tomamos un momento para desayunar y recargar energías para nuestro paso hacia la costanera. De todos, este fue mi lugar preferido, porque se podía ver el hermoso Río Paraná, acompañado de un paseo costero muy lindo. Desde ahí podíamos ver el imponente Puente General Manuel Belgrano, aquel que une Resistencia, la capital de Chaco, con la ciudad de Corrientes.

The Corrientes waterfront is very extensive and has space for everything. Along it, we saw a yacht club, a stretch of the natural river, and further ahead, a beautiful beach with yellow sand prepared for swimmers. I liked that this space has been made enjoyable for everyone: during our walk, we came across many people enjoying the area (and even lots of small animals).

La costanera de Corrientes es muy extensa y tiene espacio para todo. En ella pudimos ver un club náutico, parte del río natural y más adelante, una hermosa playa con arenas amarillas preparada para los bañistas. Me gustó que se haya aprovechado este espacio para gusto de todos: durante nuestro paseo, nos encontramos con mucha gente disfrutando de este lugar (e incluso muchos pequeños animales).

During our walk, we had the opportunity to see all kinds of buildings, from some belonging to the historic center to others that were a bit more modern. It’s clear that in the city of Corrientes there has been—and still is—a strong interest in preserving local history, while not missing the chance to invest and continue modernizing. A bit of everything.

Durante nuestro recorrido tuvimos la oportunidad de ver todo tipo de edificaciones, desde algunas pertenecientes al casco histórico, hasta otras un poco más modernas. Se nota que en la ciudad de Corrientes hubo y hay bastante interés en mantener la historia local, pero sin perder la oportunidad de invertir y seguir modernizándose. Un poco de todo.

But without a doubt, the most distinctive feature of the city of Corrientes was its beautiful murals. The entire city is adorned with murals of this style, in warm colors and with textures that make them very characteristic. Of all the murals we saw, the largest one was located in front of a small shopping promenade, and through many illustrations it told the story of the first settlers. This promenade was very modern—a great combination of art and recreation.

Pero sin dudas, la parte más distintiva de la ciudad de Corrientes fueron sus hermosos murales. Toda la ciudad esta adornada con murales de este estilo, en colores cálidos y con relieves que los hacen muy característicos. De todos los murales que vimos, el más grande estuvo enfrente de un pequeño paseo comercial, y con muchos dibujos contaba la historia de los primeros pobladores. Este paseo era muy moderno, una buena combinación entre arte y recreación.

I really enjoyed this walk around the city because, in addition to stretching our legs a bit, we were able to see many interesting spots. Our walk stretched for about 4 kilometers, until it was time to take a break and recharge our energy once again. There was still a lot left to explore in this place, so it was important to rest for a while. We had already seen quite a lot, but luckily for this traveler, there was still more to come ❤️.

Este paseo por los alrededores de la ciudad me gustó mucho porque además de estirar un poco las piernas, pudimos ver muchos puntos interesantes. Nuestra caminata se extendió por unos 4 kilómetros, hasta que ya fue momento de parar un poco para recargar energías otra vez. Todavía quedaba mucho para recorrer en este lugar, por lo que era importante descansar un poco. Ya habíamos visto bastante, pero por suerte para esta viajera, todavía quedaba un poco más ❤️.
