Happy Saturday Hivers!
Leyte may not always be in the spotlight, but it’s impossible to miss how many underrated tourist spots it has. The province is incredibly abundant in waterfalls, stunning hills and mountains, white fine beaches, and crystal-clear turquoise waters. There are countless places where you can witness breathtaking sunsets and sunrises.
Personally, I haven’t explored Leyte as much as other provinces yet. But since I spend most of my time here, let me take you along on my adventures and discover Leyte together.

After the pandemic, a tourist spot called Aya’s Hill was developed in Betanhoan, Baybay City, Leyte. It is approximately a 20–30 minute ride from Hindang, Leyte, where my home is located, and it is conveniently located along the road. If you don’t have a private vehicle, you can take a bus, as many routes pass through this area from Hindang to Baybay.

The entrance fees are clearly displayed at the front of the entrance area and are visible to all guests. I paid a total of PHP 90.00 for me and my mom— PHP 50.00 for guests 3 years old and above, and PHP 40.00 for senior citizens. Children 2 years old and below are free.

This tourist spot gives off a magical Disneyland feel combined with a Singapore-inspired vibe. As soon as you enter, you’ll immediately see the iconic Merlion, similar to the one in Singapore. You’ll also find many Disney characters scattered around, adding to the fun and whimsical atmosphere. The fountain, however, was not turned on yet since it was still early. It is open daily from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the morning, and from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the evening.

There’s also a playground where kids can have even more fun. Parents don’t need to worry, as the area is safe for children to run around freely. This is located at the lower part of Aya’s Hill. So let’s head up to the higher part and see what’s waiting for us there!

As soon as you go up, you’ll immediately notice the lush green surroundings. The place is full of plants, flowers, and trees, and honestly, I was really impressed by how beautiful it all looked.

The place is really wide, and the plants at the top are well-maintained. The arrangement of different colors of flowers and plants is beautiful and thoughtfully designed.

At the very top of Aya’s Hill, you’ll find a man-made replica of England’s famous Stonehenge. There are also play slides for both kids and adults, so adventure lovers can enjoy some thrills at the top. Just keep in mind that using the play slides requires a separate ticket, as it’s not included in the entrance fee.

At the top part of Aya’s Hill, there are spots where guests can hang out and enjoy a meal while taking in the beautiful view. There’s also a canteen area if you prefer an indoor setting, but if you like dining outdoors, you can enjoy your food right there surrounded by nature.

Aya’s Hill is still a work in progress, as they continue to develop the area. Hopefully, it will become even more beautiful in the future. When we visited, it wasn’t very crowded since it was around 4 PM on a weekday. I personally prefer exploring on weekdays because it’s less busy and I can really enjoy the surroundings. That’s the full beauty of Aya’s Hill, I hope you enjoyed this little tour!

Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!

Namaste! I am fond of reading books, watching korean, american and filipino series/movies and I am also fond of gardening. I love listening to different life stories and I am always captivated with the beauty of nature so travel is my escape when life turns into blue. But hey, how could I forget my photography hobby? It is one of the best, so follow me as I will be featuring my experiences of the stuff that I am passionate with.
