Last December 21, 2025, before the Christmas Market ends on 26th of December. We had the chance to visit Vienna, Austria but now in winter and it was a beautiful experience. We expected crowds of tourists and locals at the Christmas market and vacation in the city.

Vienna immediately welcomed us with its lively streets filled with both locals and tourists, elegant atmosphere and stunning architectural design in every corner we turned.
The city really captured our hearts and it was winter season and it even more magical. Rich in history, full of life and really beautiful. When we arrived in Vienna, the first thing we did was to parked our car and we started walking through the city of Vienna felt like amazing and like a living museum.

At 12 noon, we arrived in the city and my husband surprised us by taking us to lunch at a Filipino restaurant named Lolo and Lola. And to our surprise, the restaurant was still closed and will open at 1:30. So we still have time to stroll around the area and we decided to walked and even more enjoyable.

The stunning buildings showcased a blend of classic and modern styles. I took photos of the beautiful city and exploring by foot allowed me to appreciate more its charm.

The MQ Square or MuseumsQuaretier is one of the largest cultural complexes in the world and it is around 9hectare (22 acre).

๐The mumok (Museum of Modern Art) is located within the largest cultural complex of MQ Square.

๐MQ Art Square Box at the MQ Square and an outdoor space for contemporary art installations.

Everywhere we turned were stunning and another historic building in Vienna is the Academy of Fine Arts (Akademie der bildenden Kรผnste Wien) and Founded in 1688 as a private academy, it is now a public university.
Walking through the streets felt so cozy and welcoming. Adding to the beauty of the city, it was the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the moment together.

When it was time for lunch and we made our way back to the restaurant. And we returned to the Filipino restaurant to indulge in some traditional Pinoy meal. With full stomachs, we continued exploring Vienna's hidden gems. Even with the freezing wind, our spirits remained high to see more of the city.

And another breathtaking architectural building of the Natural History Museum (Naturhistorisches Museum Vienna). It is a massive, palace-like building and stands directly across the square.
Outside the museum, the carvings showed the rich history of the city and the walls were covered with beautiful statues. As we walked, we saw people from many different countries and it felt like a place where the whole world comes together. Taking photos and videos of the stunning building.

It is a massive square and situated between the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien (Art History Museum) and Natural History Museum (Naturhistorisches Museum Vienna).

Heldenplatz or Heroes Square. And the square is home of 2 large equestrian statues. The monument to Prince Eugene of Savory.

๐ Equestrian statue of Archduke Charles (Erzherzog Karl) located in Heldenplatz (Heroes Square).

๐Theseus Temple in the Volksgarten in Vienna.
Our walk through Vienna was a journey back in time and even the cold wind touches our faces, the beauty of the streets kept us moving forward. Every structure looked like a masterpiece of architectural design, massive buildings stood proudly for centuries, exterior details of the buildings were stunning and well preserved. Seeing it personally and walking through the city felt like visiting an open-air museum. The city is truly stunning and now I wonder why lots of tourists visited the place. Vienna is a city where every detail tells a story, full of charm and its elegance left us completely speechless. December trip was truly a wonderful winter experience.

We are already looking forward to reading more about your adventures!
I visited Vienna 3 years ago, and I can easily say that I am already missing it! It has an energy apart, and there is really so much to see all around, even without having an exact destination, because of all the amazing architecture the buildings have!
Exactly! It brings back your memories and city's charm you never forget. Wandering without a place and feels magical. Such a beautiful city. โค๏ธ
