A Family Trip to Belgium. Open School Days at Thomas More For Z’s Future.

First of September, we traveled to Belgium. Our trip was not just about discovering new places and sometimes we travel because there is an important thing we need to do.

Our recent trip was a little trip. There were also visiting places in Belgium but we went there because of an open school day at Thomas More Mechelen. Z’s possible future school.

This year Z is in her 4th year of high school. Slowly, her university life isn't far away. It's starting to feel real and needs to be planned for her future.

It was another family trip and the kids were absent from school for four days. It was ok because it's more important for Z and the schedule of open school day was last September 2.

Before the student graduates from High School, different universities will introduce what courses they offer.

Z is getting older and deciding, choosing a university is a big decision. There are many choices and possibilities that can be overwhelming. From months of thinking and asking for options, she chooses Thomas More in Mechelen.

It was a good opportunity for future students on the open school day. They will get more information about the university and courses they want.

Open school day starts at 6:00 pm and we were early in the campus. Z was a bit nervous and we told her everything was okay. The staff approached us and instead of waiting outside we went inside.

She even told us to have a drink and eat. They have free coffee, tea, water, juices and Pepsi. They also have free croissants, other types of breads and fruits.

Future students are slowly coming together with their supportive parents. Z went to her booth and they started a conversation with other teacher.

Us we were waiting for her and enjoying our free drinks and food.

Z is considering Branding and Activation which sounds interesting and creative for me. It is connected to brands, communication, marketing, ideas and creating experiences.

After the talk, we went to see whats inside the campus. And we also discovered another area that caught Aya's attention, the Media and Entertainment.

It was a good decision that Aya came also. If we asked her what she wants to her future. She has looks of choices and come in her mind the Media and Entertainment.

There it was, she seemed like it. Maybe this time it was Aya's choice and we told her no need to answer immediately. She has more time to think and we really want what makes her happy and be successful.

We walked and looked around at the surroundings, and Aya enjoyed the trip inside the campus in her own way. Having everyone with us was nice.

Our family trip to Belgium was one of those little steps. Z’s university visit was a glimpse of what might become for her next chapter.

A preparation for the next chapter of her life as she finishes her high school.

What makes her happy, allows her to grow and be herself confidently-were happy and always support her, same with Aya.
