Baguio - City of Pines | Burnham Park 2026
Hello everyone, how are you? I hope that you're doing great!
Have you ever been in Baguio? The well known as City of Pines because of the thousands native pine trees that naturally thrive in its high-altitude or in cool mountain environment, and because of that Baguio is also known as The Summer Capital of the Philippines.
One more thing... do you know where the name of this place came from? Baguio came from the Ibaloi word "Bag-iw", means "moss". No wonder since moss is abundant in that area.
We arrived at La Trinidad, Benguet on July 8, 2026 at pass 2 A.M, I thought Julius and Zach were the only persons who were awake since they were the one who fetched us outside. But when we arrived at their house, we were also welcomed by Aunt Josie, since she can't sleep that time.
The next day, we woke up at 9 A.M, and aunt Josie said that she's going to the salon for her manicure and pedicure. She wanted us to go with her. We went inside the mall where Aunt Josie used to go and had our nail treated. We stayed there for almost 1 hour, from cleaning our nails, polishing, and drying.
After that, we walked and went to Burnham Park.
You know what I love in Baguio? The cool weather and the walking parts. Because you will really enjoy walking when the weather is not hot. When we were walking at the park, there's this group who were convincing us the buy their ice cream, they are the group of youths who confidently offered a clean and delicious ice cream.
We tried the smallest cone with mango and strawberry flavor, and it's good.
While strolling at the burnham park, I saw these beautiful and lovely flowers.
• Strawflowers or Xerochrysum bracteatum, also known as paper daisies or everlasting daisies. This flower is also good for fresh bouquets and dried arrangement of flower since they retain their size and color after being cut.
• Sunflower or Helianthusannus this is very popular flower here in Philippines but you can't see them everywhere. It is a tall annual plant known for its large, bright yellow flower, and has edible seeds.
• Marguerite Daisies or Argyranthemum frutescens, a perennial known for its white petals and golden-yellow centers.
• Dahlias or Dahlia pinnata, popular ornamental perennials known for their vibrant petals and tuberous roots.
• Euryops a genus commonly known for their bright yellow, daisy-like flowerheads. Euryops is derived from Greek means "Wide Eyes" referring to the large flowerheads compared to the narrow foliage.
Those are just few beautiful flowers in Baguio that I saw along the way.
While strolling, we also saw this popular spot in Burnham Park, the renting place of riding go-karts and bicycles.
This is aunt Josie, she was the one who treated us in manicure and pedicure, she also accompanied us in Burnham Park.

And of course, we took a remembrance picture together at the park.
Ohh, by the way... look at this so cute picture of this kid, wanting so bad to have ice cream!

I really enjoyed walking around burnham park with my sister and aunt Josie, I hope the next time I'll go there the Lake is already open for visitors.
Because burnham park is popular with the their famous lake together with boating. I heard from the news that they'll open it in September, in Baguio Day!
Hopefully, you can visit Baguio sooner or later! Guys I'm telling you, Baguio is the therapy you need, a place where you can really have a break and just breathe, and a place where you can really enjoy your day!

I haven't been to Baguio, but I wish we could visit there someday. I'm just watching comparisons though na mas magastos pa daw trip around Philippines kesa abroad kaya parang ang hirap mag decide kapag ganyan. Still, some place in the Philippines are worth the money talaga no. I also want to see that spot on your second photo. Like, is that one big community ba. May bahay na pare parehas ang color eh.
Yes po it's a big community po. Sana po makapasyal din po kayo sa Baguio, actually there’s a lot of tourist spots in there kaso po hindi namin napuntahan. Hoping one day we'll go back again at pupuntahan ang mga lugar na famous spot hehe.
Don't worry about budget po kasi you won't regret going there po, you'll enjoy the weather, the walking parts, the low fare fee in jeepneys, and a lot of beautiful views in Baguio. There’s a lot of adventure there. Para makatipid po kayo, it's better kung may mga kaibigan or kapamilya po kayong pwedeng pakituluyan, it's a big help na din po, less gastos for transient kasi ang mahal po kasi kapag hotel or transient. Sobra pong makaka less kayo kapag may possible house na pakikituluyan po. ☺
Ohhh, nice, they look cool from afar, ang ganda ng shot mo dun hehe. Sana ngaaaaa and sana kaya pa ng mga oldies ko huhu.
Ohhhoo, there's really a lot to enjoy, I'll remember that. Sadly, I don't know anyone from Baguio. Saya sana if meron. But then again, makakahanap pa rin naman siguro ng murang hotel, sanaaaa
