I just had to tell you about this amazing place we visited recently Grassland (Mini New Zealand) in Toril here in DAVAO CITY
! Trust me it was so worth the trip especially since i went with my best buddies. We had been planning this picnic for weeks already so we were all super hyped up before we even left the house..

The drive up there was pretty fun too we passed by small farms tons of banana plants and you could really feel the air getting cooler as we went higher up the hills. When we took that last turn and saw the lake for the first time we all just stopped dead in our tracks and stared it was that beautiful!

The lakeโs surrounded by tall green trees and rolling grassy hills. The waterโs so clear you can see all the little stones at the bottom and it looks like a big blue mirror because it copies the sky above. We found a perfect flat spot under a huge mango tree to set up our stuff.

We laid out our plastic mat and pulled out all the food we brought crispy fried chicken creamy spaghetti fresh fruit salad and cold drinks we kept in a cooler. My mom even made homemade brownies the night before which were a total hit! But right after we got everything out we all grabbed our phones and cameras.

The views were just too good to pass up. We took photos from every single angle some of us stood on the little dock near the shore others climbed up a small hill to get a better look at the whole lake. There were a few other families there too some were fishing with simple rods.

Others let their kids splash around in the shallow water. You could hear birds chirping in the trees and the water gently lapping against the bank. I was running all over the place taking pictures of the hills the trees and how the sun made the water sparkle like it was covered in tiny diamondss.

My friends were snapping selfies with the water behind them and we even made a short videos where we are laughing and pointing out all the cool things we saw like a line of ducks swimming together and butterflies flitting from flower to flower. Before i knew it the sun was starting to go down.

The sky turned all orange and pink. We kept taking more photos because we wanted to hold onto every second of it. Then one of my friends said โHey guys did we even take a picture of our food?โ Thatโs when i realized i was so busy photographing the lake and hills.

I did not get a single shot of all the food we had worked so hard to bring! We all cracked up because we were so focused on the scenery that we totally forgot about our spread. But honestly? It did not matter at all. The food tasted great but being there in that gorgeous spot was better.

Being with my friends was way better than any photo we could have taken of our meal. Grassland Mini New Zealand only a short drive from downtown Davao City, but it feels like you are in a whole different world up there.
