​Hoy mi esposo y yo decidimos salir nuevamente de la rutina para adentrarnos a explorar las increíbles montañas de la área protegida Siboney - Juticí. Es un lugar lleno de vida, paisajes contrastantes y una biodiversidad fascinante que siempre nos deja maravillados.
​Comenzamos nuestra caminata atravesando los prados y senderos rodeados de vegetación. A pesar de los nubarrones que amenazaban con lluvia en la cima de las elevaciones, el clima fresco hizo que la caminata fuera muy agradable. La vista panorámica de las colinas y acantilados al fondo es simplemente espectacular.

​A medida que avanzábamos, la vegetación cambiaba. Esta zona es famosa por sus cactos y plantas adaptadas al clima seco y árido. Nos encontramos con impresionantes cactus columnares que se alzan entre los matorrales, así como curiosos frutos silvestres de color rojo vivo que resaltaban entre las espinas.

La naturaleza siempre regala sorpresas. Durante la ruta logramos observar la rica fauna del área. Primero pudimos fotografiar un pequeño pájaro camuflado en el hueco del tronco de un árbol, y más adelante nos topamos con una majestuosa iguana descansando sobre las rocas.

​Para culminar este recorrido, llegamos a un punto elevado desde donde se divisa la costa y las aguas del mar caribeño a lo lejos, enmarcadas por la densa vegetación verde. Sin duda, estas excursiones en pareja nos cargan de energía y nos recuerdan lo valioso que es cuidar nuestras áreas naturales protegidas.

​Today my husband and I decided to step out of our routine once again to explore the incredible mountains of the Siboney - Juticí protected area. It is a place full of life, contrasting landscapes, and a fascinating biodiversity that always leaves us in awe.
​We started our hike crossing the meadows and trails surrounded by vegetation. Despite the dark clouds threatening rain over the peaks, the cool weather made the walk very enjoyable. The panoramic view of the hills and cliffs in the background is simply spectacular.

As we moved forward, the vegetation began to change. This area is famous for its cacti and plants adapted to the dry, arid climate. We came across impressive columnar cacti rising among the thickets, as well as curious bright red wild fruits standing out among the thorns.

Nature always brings surprises. Along the route, we were able to observe the rich local fauna. First, we managed to photograph a small bird camouflaged inside a hollow tree trunk, and further along, we ran into a majestic iguana resting on the rocks.

To round off this trek, we reached an elevated viewpoint overlooking the coast and the distant waters of the Caribbean Sea, framed by dense green foliage. Without a doubt, these outdoor adventures together recharge our energy and remind us how valuable it is to protect our natural reserves.
