" The Breathtaking Kawasan Falls in Badian Cebu, Philippines" | #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 075

Hello My fellow #Lakwatsero (Traveler) in Hive, how are you? I hope you're doing great today. It's been a while since my last published post; life has been occupied lately, but we are still kicking and grateful for everything. Anyway, I don't want to drag you into some dramas in life lately. Let's focus on this breathtaking place I explored in 2024.

Have you heard about Kawasan Falls? Did you explore this place already? If not yet, let me share with you my experience in this beautiful wonder of the Philippines. This place deserves in your bucket list. Come, let's discover Kawasan Falls.

Last December 2024, when we had our Year-End Party at Cebu, Philippines, we extended our stay on the Island. After the party, we explored some beautiful tourist destinations in Cebu. And Kawasan Falls is one of the spots we've visited.

Kawasan Falls not only offers a unique scenery but also an adventure that everyone loves to try. This is famous for canyoneering adventure, where you will jump several falls and explore the trail going down to Kawasan Falls. It's an extreme adventure that requires you to prepare your physical strength. A tiring adventure, but satisfying; you know the fear of jumping, and somehow you enjoy it. You will feel on this adventure.

My colleagues from Luzon got excited when they knew this was one of the adventures in Cebu we would explore. They want to try what they saw on the internet of a Canyoneering adventure.

Exploring the Kawasan Falls has two choices: doing the Canyoneering Adventure or just exploring the Kawasan Falls directly. This is not my first time in this place, and I already tried the Canyoneering adventure, so, instead of doing the canyoneering trail again, I just chose to explore the Kawasan falls directly with my other colleagues and wait for the others at the last jump-off of the trail.

It is one thing I didn't maximize during my last visit. I was really exhausted at that time that I missed appreciating the falls, and all I wanted was to take a rest and lie down on my bed 🤣. Yes, I enjoyed the extreme adventure, but my body, I think is not prepared for it. I underestimated it, actually. So if ever you decide to take the canyoneering, make sure you prepare yourself physically.

But if you just want to relax and be amazed by the breathtaking Kawasan Falls, you don't need to worry and prepare your Physical strength. All you need to prepare is your broken soul to release all your problems and let the current of the falls take it away in your life. It sounds cringe, but you will feel it and somehow recharge in this place.

So if you already decided to go directly to the Kawasan Falls, just inform your tour guide so they can arrange the timeline and itinerary. One good thing about the tour guides in this area is that they are very versatile and accommodate the requests of the guests. For your guidance, you can follow this small guide going to Kawasan Falls.

This is based on our last visit to the Falls. First, we need to walk for fifteen minutes from the highway where we park our vehicles, going to Kawasan. Along the way, we passed by the tourism office and stopped for registration and paid for the environmental fee. The estimated cost is ₱200 per head. It's only five minutes from the drop-off. Then, after that, you will walk again for ten minutes to reach the Kawasan Falls.

Along the way, you will cross multiple bridges crossing the beautiful stream from the falls. My excitement towards the Falls is bursting at this time, the nature we crossed and the river is like stars shining in our eyes. It's refreshing and relaxing to watch. Our eyes are full already of beautiful scenery.

If you feel hungry on the way, no worries, there's an area where food stalls are built to fill your stomach; they also sell some souvenirs as remembrance. One food that stands out to me is the chocolate snacks made of sticky rice filled with chocolate inside. It's like a donut, I think. This food is superb, it's new to my taste buds. The chocaolate I think, is made locally from cocoa, you should try it when visiting the Kawasan Falls. I forgot the name, sorry. But, if you know it, can you drop it in the comment section, please?

After a few minutes of walking, we already heard the splash of water from the Falls. From 50 meters away, we already saw its majestic image. We are amazed by its beauty, the color of the water, and the presence of its release. From this part, I am experiencing a live Canva in front of me. It's enchanted, right?

You can go near the Falls and swim in the wide natural pool. This is the level 1 Falls of Kawasan, it has a 14-meter-tall waterfall with a wide natural pool below where tourists can enjoy to swim in. The bottom is 7-10 meters deep, and there's a smooth and rocky surface at the bottom. If you plan to dive, just make sure you have proper gear, a life vest, and, of course, know how to swim. By the way, this turquoise blue water is very cold. Just prepare yourself for the temperature, okay. There are cottages near where the post of life guard located, you can put your things inside for free.

The falls is more beautiful upclose, you will love the sound it makes and the buzz of nature around it. We also swim in the pool and try the cold water of the falls. We enjoy ourselves so much on this, watching the falls alone makes us relax and breathe away our uncertainties at that time. It is one of the unforgetable place weve visited in Cebu.

We stayed here for two and a half hours; the plan was to wait for the other group, who took the canyoneering adventure. This is the last Jump off for the canyoneering, so we will meet on this place. But dusk is already coming, and still they haven't arrived yet. So we decided to go back already to our temporary accommodation so we can change our clothes and dry up cause we were already chilling at that time 😖.

What a beautiful location!! Even if water is, and will always stay my biggest fear, that place screams for a moment with you in the middle of the water!
