Walk on Fossestein/Waterfall-Path

(edited)

Hello, friends, travelers, and community! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying time with your loved ones. Today is Wednesday, which means many of us will share or read about the Wednesday walk in the community #wednesdaywalk, created by @tattoodjay.

I’d like to share my post about my walk that started with a bit of discomfort but ended up being very pleasant and joyful.

After spending a night at Hov Hyttegrend near the Likeholfossen waterfall, Started moving on to our next destination.

A few kilometers down the road, we stopped to see a wooden plank bridge. After asking some locals, we found that we could walk to Fossestein/Waterfall Walk after crossing the bridge.

We decided to take the opportunity for a little adventure instead of spending the entire day driving to our overnight stop in Stryn. It's a long drive, but the long summer days make it easier.

We were walking along the Gaula River, which flows down into the Viksdalen Valley. On one side of the river, the landscape is covered by a forest, while on the other side, there are some farmhouses located beside the main road. The river creates a series of small waterfalls along this walking path, totaling 14 in number. Although they are charming, they are very small compared to the impressive Big Likholefossen.

The Fossestein path was not clearly marked at the beginning. After noticing the uneven, slanted trail, I became concerned about my back. However, our curiosity about the waterfalls and our desire to rejuvenate our bodies and minds in nature motivated us to continue our walk.

We walked a couple of kilometers to find the trail. Although it was a bit difficult, but the lush green surroundings and the soft sound of flowing water made it easier.

Finally, we found the trail quite uncomfortable, walking on wooden stairs carefully beside the slanted ground with bushes connected to water very hard to know how deep it was.

We found 4-5 small waterfalls at a lower elevation. They are very nice, calm, making a softer, gentle sound. At one place, I felt a spiritual atmosphere, but there was no place to sit. We did sit on those wooden stairs and just got lost in those very calming moments, in the sound of nature.

And the very best part of the whole walk made us happy; we felt
our walk was worthwhile. The forest was so beautifully covered with small rocky moss, with pine straight trees standing like soldiers.
Tall tops of trees are trying to touch the sky. blue sky behind the tree top, beautiful scene of nature.

The scene in this part of the forest inspires us to go further, but after 1/2 kilometer, we couldn't find the trail, so we turned back.

After talking with people, looking at the surroundings, and moving back on the road,

The place called Vik, Beautiful Norwegian houses alongside the road, and at the bottom of the mountains,

Driving along the road that winds between a range of small mountains, houses, and farms on one side and a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains and lush green trees on the other was wonderful. We were truly enjoying our trip in the amazing natural scenery.
Thank you.
