It was an unplanned trip, it lasted 7 days, and it was a lot of fun

Traveling, whether near or far from home, always teaches me something. Although I'm an introvert, I still enjoy meeting people; I talk to a few people, and that's enough for me. Mountains and plains are not at all the same for me; mountains are mountains! How can anything compare to mountains? The plains offer the joy of seeing far into the distance, the experience of letting your gaze wander.

I live in Dehradun, and I've collected some photos while traveling around here. Generally, I don't take photos when I go to non-touristy locations, so there are very few photos in this post, and all of them were clicked with the intention of publishing a Dehradun blog someday. My routine is very strict; I only eat outside the house when there's no other option, which is why I don't even weigh 60 kg.

So, let's go on a trip, let's explore Dehradun.
The Mall of Dehradun is the biggest attraction point these days, as it's the largest mall in Dehradun and has many stores, a food court, and some good options for entertainment. I went there before Christmas. From my home, I first went to Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower) by a 'Vikram', which is also called a tuk-tuk. After an 8 km tuk-tuk ride, I took the Rishikesh bus.

The Mall of Dehradun is 9 km from Ghanta Ghar, and due to traffic, it took me 40 minutes. I didn't need to buy anything from the mall; I just did some window shopping, and before leaving, I ate 'Chole Bhature' at Bikaner Restaurant. The food was very heavy, so I walked back home from Ghanta Ghar to digest it.

Two or three days later, I went out for some work and had the opportunity to visit a cafe. Since it was getting cold, I ordered a cappuccino. Because I like sweet things, I added two sachets of sugar to the cup of hot coffee, and it was delicious. The entire cafe was empty, which surprised me. In the afternoon, I got hungry while walking around, so for lunch I had dal, roti, and potato curry, which was very tasty.

I came back home, played with my cat, and then a few days later I went to Sahastradhara. This time I went on my scooter. It took me about 45 minutes to cover the 11 km distance. The roads here are hilly, so it takes a little longer. I visited the Shiva temple there and explored the surrounding area. I didn't take many photos, but I didn't like seeing the area looking so desolate after the monsoon. I hope the locals will restore the place to its former glory soon.

From there, I went to Balbhadra Hill, 16 km away. A battle took place at Balbhadra in 1857, and a memorial has been built there in its memory. However, I didn't go to the Balbhadra memorial; instead, I went to a local goddess temple there, which I really like visiting. I sat there, admired the forests, listened to the birdsong, and offered prayers at the small temple, seeking blessings from God.

On the way back, I saw some houses decorated for a wedding. I liked seeing these decorated houses, so I took some photos. I stopped at a vegetable vendor's stall where a dog was tied up with a rope, and I took a picture of it. The dog seemed angry, perhaps because it was tied up, and it showed its anger when I took the photo.

A few days later, I went to LensKart and bought a pair of sunglasses. When I came out, it was already dark. A building looked very beautiful, so I took a picture of it too. The next day, I went to Solanki Store and bought some groceries. On Christmas Day, we went to the Pacific Mall near our place. After walking around and getting tired, I went to the food court and had something to eat. I met some acquaintances there who invited me to join them for dessert.

I don't even know the name of what I ate, but it tasted very good because I love sweets. On the way back, I took a local bus, followed by a tuk-tuk, where I saw some laborers carrying meat. I struck up a conversation with them, and they told me it was someone's birthday and they were having a party. They even invited me, but I politely declined.

So, that was my trip, which was limited to a few places in Dehradun. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring, and I'll continue to post about my travels in the future.

They say the unplanned travel was more enjoyable than the planned one. Is it?
