After spending 40 minutes at the summit, the four of us began our descent towards Base Camp, where we would get our much-needed breakfast. From Summit Camp, we would travel to the lower camp, where we would not encounter the Judha Ka Talab lake on this route, and further down this route, we would descend steeply to Sankari village.

Starting early at 4 a.m., we joined the crowd. We reached the summit at 7:10 a.m. and witnessed the beautiful sunrise. Everything was beautiful except for the human traffic. It was winter, and it should have snowed by now, but it hadn't happened yet. It was already December 25th, and winter had shifted in the Himalayas to January.

As soon as the golden light touched the earth's lip, it was as if an explosion had occurred, and we were all lost. This moment, this moment, was so amazing and unique that everyone stopped and stared at the sunrise, as if the golden light had taken over everyone. Seeing this amazing sight, I folded my hands, apologized for my bad deeds, and expressed my desire to always stay on the right path.

At 8 o'clock, the four of us began our descent. A large crowd was busy photographing themselves, and taking advantage of this, I told my guide, "Let's get down now, otherwise we'll get stuck in the crowd." The guide agreed, and we began our descent. Two of our companions, who were trekking in the mountains for the first time, were having more difficulty descending. ८ बजे हम चारों नीचे उतरना शुरू करते हैं, बहुत सारी भीड़ ऊपर ही फोटोग्राफी में बिजी है और इसी का फायदा उठाते हुए मैं अपने गाइड को बोलता हूँ कि चलो अब नीचे उतरते हैं नहीं तो भीड़ में फंस जायेंगे, गाइड भी मेरी हाँ में हाँ मिलाता है और अब नीचे उतरना शुरू करते हैं. हमारे २ साथी जो पहली बार पहाड़ों में ट्रैकिंग कर रहे हैं को नीचे उतरने में ज्यादा समस्या हो रही है, डाउन हिल में उतरने पर यदि अपने पैरों का वर्कआउट नहीं किया तो आपको जाँघों और घुटनों में दर्द का सामना करना पड़ सकता है इसलिए दोनों बहुत स्लो हो गए.

उतरते समय हम चार लोग थे, हमारा गाइड और रस्ते में एक कुत्ता न जाने किसका इंतजार करते मिला, लेकिन हमारे ग्रुप से मिलकर उसे अच्छा लगा और कुत्ता हमारे साथ-साथ नीचे उतरने लगा. यह कुत्ते कैंप वालों के होते हैं और कैंप में रहने वाले लोग जब इन्हें प्यार करते हैं और कुछ खाने को देते हैं तो उनके साथ-साथ पहाड़ चढ़ना शुरू कर देते हैं. शायद कुत्ते का साथी भीड़ और अँधेरे में खो गया इसलिए कुत्ता उससे बिछड़ गया, तो अब वह हमारे साथ नीचे उतरने लगा.

जहाँ एक तरफ हम धीरे-धीरे नीचे उतर रहे हैं वहीँ, दूसरी तरफ घाटियों के बीच से छनकर आती सूर्य की किरणें घाटी को स्वर्णिम लुक दे रही हैं, किरणों को देखकर ऐसा लग रहा है की छू लो. पीली रौशनी के पीछे ७००० मीटर ऊँची हिमालयी पाक्स चमक रही हैं. जल्द ही हम उस पोइट पर पहुँच जाते हैं जहाँ सुबह हमने ब्रेक लिया था, यहाँ रूककर हम एक-एक चाय पीते हैं और फिर से अपने रस्ते पर हो लेते हैं. मेरे दिमाग में यह चल रहा है कि यदि हम समय से नीचे पहुँच गए तो समय से हमें टैक्सी मिल जाएगी और आज ही हम वापस घर के लिए रवाना हो जायेंगे.

चाय का स्टाल क्रोस करने के बाद हमने एक जमा हुआ बर्फ का पैच मिलता है जिसको सुबह के अँधेरे में ऊपर से क्रोस किया था. अब इसे देखकर लग रहा है कि यदि रात को कोई गलती से इसके ऊपर से गया होगा तो पक्का फिसल गया होगा और गिर गया होगा. सावधानी से चलते हुए हम बेस कैंप की तरफ बढ़ते हैं और सुबह के 10 बजे तक बेस कैंप पहुँच जाते हैं. हम यहाँ रुकते हैं और नास्ता करते हैं.

बेस कैंप पर बहुत सारे रंग-बिरंगे टेंट हैं, यहाँ की ऊँचाई ३२०० मीटर है और kedarkantha समिट पर जाने वालों के कैंप इसी स्थान पर लगते हैं. यहाँ कुछ स्थानियों की दुकाने भी हैं जहाँ से आप अपने मनपसंदीदा चीज़ खरीदकर खा सकते हो. हमने कुछ नहीं लिया, सिर्फ नाश्ता किया और आगे की प्लान की योजना बनायी.
