Hello dear friends.
Today I am taking you to a wonderful mountain in Serbia. It's Kopaonik. One of the largest mountains in Serbia, part of which was declared a National Park in 1981 during the former Yugoslavia.
I have visited Kopaonik several times in different seasons. I was in spring, summer and autumn. I skipped winter, because I don't like snow, I don't like traveling when winter equipment is needed, because we climb high, and I don't like those risky rides.
Kopaonik is also called the Silver Mountain. Someone says that it is because of the snow that is also there during the summer on the western part of the mountain, and someone says that it is because of the silver conifers.

The forest, which has the most on this mountain, is literally divided into three parts. In one part there are conifers, in another deciduous trees and in the third it is mixed, there are both conifers and deciduous trees.
Kopaonik has the highest peak called Pančićev vrh. It is about 2020 meters high. There is also a mausoleum in that place where the famous doctor and botanist Josif Pančić is buried, who discovered a new species of conifer on Mount Tara, called Pančić's spruce. It grows only on Mount Tara.
I have already told you that a large part of Kopaonik has been turned into a National Park. There are numerous reserves, springs, pastures, and there is also a famous ski center in that part.
We visited the "Metođe" reserve, "Jelovarnik" where there are small waterfalls that flow into the river, the "Đorov most" excursion site and the mountain pass called "Pajino preslo", with a wonderful view of Pančićev vrh.

Enjoying a walk, while the rustling of leaves under your feet, clean air, a view you can't imagine and a vacation in mountain houses, weekend villages and hotels is an experience that you will remember and that calls you to return to this mountain again.
The morning fog and the sun slowly breaking through the clouds and lifting the fog is unreal. The most interesting thing for me was to look through the fog with binoculars. You can't see anything, and then slowly, like in a dream, when you wake up and open your eyes, a sight appears in front of you that enchants you. It's like I was in a movie.
Đorov most

I hope that Kopaonik will be and remain what it is: a mountain, a picnic spot, a vacation destination.
Make a note of Kopaonik as a place you would visit when you come to Serbia sometime. Trust me it's worth it.

In the very center there are a lot of hotels, restaurants, bungalows, houses, and they started building residential buildings, and I don't like that at all. I would not like them to turn the mountain into a city, as they did on Zlatibor, also one of the most famous mountains in Serbia.
